Kate Kohler (born February 16, 1969) is an American pianist, singer, composer, and educator, best known for her CD series of piano compositions called Lullabies for Grownups.
Her first solo album was Elusive Victory, released in 2002. [1] [2] She released a follow-up, called Dangerously Beige, in 2007. [3]
After living in Bozeman, Montana for some years, Kohler gained some press with the release of the first album of her Lullabies for Grownups series in 2008, entitled Clouds. [4] The CD, along with its two sequels, Stars and Moon, proved to be very successful among yoga instructors and massage therapists. [5] The three albums are designed to be peaceful and relaxing, and was referred to as "musical meditation" by John Hoskings, artistic director of the Vigilante Theater Company in Bozeman. [6]
Kohler is based in Los Angeles. She released an album closer to the style of her pre-Lullabies work, entitled Unexpected Romance, in 2011. The album was produced by her brother Rob Kohler, and features 11 original compositions for piano and voice. [7]
Kohler also runs a small publishing company in Los Angeles, called Kohler Music Press. [8] Their main product is the Perfect Staff Paper Notebook, a small booklet of blank staff paper that is marketed towards students and educators alike. They have also published a theory book written by Rob Kohler, and several score books made up of compositions by other members of the Kohler family. The company also produced and distributed This World's 2013 album, Celestial Skies. [9]
Kim Carnes is an American singer and songwriter born and raised in Los Angeles. She began her career as a songwriter in the 1960s, writing for other artists while performing in local clubs and working as a session background singer with the famed Water Sisters. After she signed her first publishing deal with Jimmy Bowen, she released her debut album Rest on Me in 1971. Carnes' self-titled second album primarily contained self-penned songs, including her first charting single "You're a Part of Me", which reached No. 35 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart in 1975. In the following year, Carnes released Sailin', which featured "Love Comes from Unexpected Places". The song won the American Song Festival and the award for Best Composition at the Tokyo Song Festival in 1976.

Goodbye Lullaby is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne. It was released worldwide on March 8, 2011 through RCA Records. Recording sessions for the album began in November 2008 and continued over a period of nearly two years, concluding in October 2010. Goodbye Lullaby is a primarily a pop rock album and is considered a more introspective record from Lavigne in comparison to her previous material, consisting mainly of stripped down instruments such as the piano and acoustic guitar. Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse is the fourteenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey, released on May 23, 2014, on Def Jam Recordings. Blige respectively make appearances on remixes of two songs, "Betcha Gon’ Know" and "It's a Wrap", taken from Carey's twelfth studio album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009). These remixes were originally intended to appear on Carey's cancelled remix album, Angel's Advocate (2010).
"You Don't Know What to Do" is a song by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey included on her fourteenth studio album, Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse (2014), and features rapper Wale. The track was released on June 30, 2014, as the third single from the album. It was written by Wale, Carey, Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, with production helmed by the latter two. The song contains an interpolation of "I'm Caught Up in a One Night Affair" written by Patrick Adams and Terri Gonzalez, both of whom received songwriting credits as a result. The single's artwork caused controversy when the media criticised Carey for photoshopping and re-using images of herself. Carey herself later expressed her discontent on the matter, stating that she had no knowledge of the single's artwork until it was released.
