This World is the first studio album by the band This World. The band's previous album, ...Imagine a Music, was released in 1986 when they were known as In Flight. [1]
After In Flight disbanded in 1990, Lee Kohler reformed the group with his brother Rob and their friend drummer Michael Blessing in 1995. There was much interest in the group's work left over from their days as In Flight, and so funding was easily obtained for recording an album.
Many of the compositions were previously unperformed songs from In Flight. The group's composition process will generally start with one member bringing in an idea and the rest building off that idea until an entire song has been composed. Subsequently, each member composed their own parts for their instruments.
"Harvest Circle," composed by the band's bassist Rob Kohler, features Bobcat singers Frank Caplette, Shane Doyle, and Crit Held. This fusion between electric Jazz and traditional Native American music is Rob Kohler's trademark sound. This sound is clear on Kohler's album A Thousand Faces, released in 1998. [2]
The album was recorded at The Garage in Reese Creek, Montana. The studio had been built and was run by Michael Blessing, the band's drummer. Grammy-winning producer Cookie Marenco was flown in from Los Angeles to produce and engineer the album. [3] Marenco, now the owner and founder of Blue Coast Records, has worked with many legendary musicians, including Max Roach, Paul McCandless, Brad Mehldau, Charlie Haden, and many others. [4] [5] [6]

The Electric Prunes are an American psychedelic rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1965. Much of the band's music was, as music historian Richie Unterberger described it, possessed of "an eerie and sometimes anguished ambiance." Their most successful material was by songwriters Annette Tucker and Nancie Mantz, though the group also penned their own songs. Incorporating psychedelia and elements of embryonic electronic rock, the band's sound was marked by innovative recording techniques with fuzz-toned guitars and oscillating sound effects. In addition, guitarist Ken Williams' and singer James Lowe's concept of "free-form garage music" provided the band with a richer sonic palette and exploratory lyrical structure than many of their contemporaries.

Green Carnation is a Norwegian progressive metal band from Kristiansand, formed in 1990. Green Carnation's trend of music has continuously changed on every release one by one; from straight forward death metal in their demo, to death-doom, then a progressive doom metal sound, to an atmospheric gothic metal sound, to a melancholic hard rock sound and in 2006, went as far as to releasing an entirely acoustic album Acoustic Verses. The band released its first album in 14 years titled Leaves of Yesteryear on May 8, 2020, which marked a return to their earlier gothic progressive metal roots. A new single was composed, arranged, rehearsed and they were went on to record “The World Without a View” during the COVID-19 pandemic, "The World Without a View" was released digitally on December 18, 2020.
The Amboy Dukes were an American rock band formed in 1964 in Chicago, Illinois, and later based in Detroit, Michigan. They are best known for their only hit single, "Journey to the Center of the Mind". The band's name comes from the title of a novel by Irving Shulman. In the UK, the group's records were released under the name of the American Amboy Dukes, because of the existence of a British group with the same name. The band went through a number of personnel changes during its active years, the only constant being lead guitarist and composer Ted Nugent. The band transitioned to being Nugent's backing band before he discontinued the name in 1975.
The Golden Palominos were an American musical group headed by drummer, producer, arranger and composer Anton Fier, first formed in 1981. Aside from Fier, the Palominos membership has been wildly elastic, with only bassist Bill Laswell and guitarist Nicky Skopelitis appearing on every album through 1996. Their final work, 2012's A Good Country Mile features vocalist Kevn Kinney. The band's early work developed out of the No Wave scene, but later branched out into alternative rock, country rock and electronic music.

Former TEA vocalist Marc Storace joined the band as frontman in time for their Metal Rendez-vous album in 1980.
V: The New Mythology Suite is the fifth studio album by progressive metal band Symphony X, released on October 10, 2000, through Inside Out Music. It is a concept album dealing with the story of Atlantis, ancient Egyptian mythology, and astrology. Cradle of Thorns was an American rock band. Formed in 1988 in Bakersfield, California by singer Ty Elam, the band was initially defined by their gothic rock style. After releasing their debut album, Remember It Day, independently in 1990, the band signed with Triple X Records, and would come to be defined by a more dance music-oriented style influenced by heavy metal and industrial rock. In 1998, the band changed their name to Videodrone and signed with Korn's vanity label Elementree Records, releasing their self titled fourth album, Videodrone the following year, which featured a mix of industrial music and nu metal. Preflyte is a compilation album by the American folk rock band the Byrds and was released in July 1969 on Together Records. The album is a collection of demos recorded by the Byrds at World Pacific Studios in Los Angeles during late 1964, before the band had signed to Columbia Records and become famous. It includes early demo versions of the songs "Here Without You", "You Won't Have to Cry", "I Knew I'd Want You", and "Mr. Tambourine Man", all of which appeared in re-recorded form on the band's 1965 debut album.
Spirit into Sound is a percussion-based world music album by former Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. It was released on CD on January 25, 2000. Most of the compositions were co-written by Hart and Rebeca Mauleón, both of whom play a wide variety of drums and percussion instruments on the album. Mauleón also sings on many of the tracks. Zakir Hussain plays various drums and contributes to most of the tracks. Additional musicians include Ustad Sultan Khan on sarangi and Bob Weir on acoustic guitar.
