Career

She launched the Health Law & Policy Program (1993), which has been ranked in the top 10 of U.S. News & World Report. [3]

At Seton Hall

Boozang announced plans to resign from her position as Dean of Seton Hall Law in November 2022, shortly after the university announced it was investigating "irregular" transactions at the law school. Her resignation was effective January 1, 2023. University officials said at the time that the resignation was not connected to the investigation and she has since remained at the school as a faculty member. [2]

A former assistant of Boozang's, Teresina DeAlmeida, plead guilty to wire fraud conspiracy in 2022 after embezzling at least $1.3 million from the school over several years. DeAlmeida was sentenced to three years in prison. [4]

In a separate lawsuit, former university president Joseph E. Nyre alleged that Kevin Marino, a member of the university's board, had tried to interfere with an internal investigation of the transactions and pushed for Boozang to receive a seven-figure settlement package as part of her departure. [5]

Works, honors and recognition

Boozang was elected to the American Bar Foundation in 2008 and the American Law Institute [6] in 2009.

Boozang was honored by The New Jersey Law Journal, which gave her a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016 and named her to its list of Top Women in the Law in 2018. [7]
