Katie Eyre Brewer is an American politician and accountant in Oregon. She was elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in November 2010 for House District 29,succeeding Democratic Representative Chuck Riley. She lost to Ben Unger in the 2012 general election. Now known as Katie Eyre,she serves on the Hillsboro Planning Commission.
Katie Eyre attended high school in Milford,Pennsylvania,and graduated from Delaware Valley High School. [1] She graduated from California State University,Northridge with a bachelor of science degree in Accounting. [1] [2] A Certified Public Accountant,she was married to Bill Brewer and has five children,working as an accountant and tax adviser for Harsch Investments. [1] [2] [3]
A resident of Hillsboro,Oregon,she filed to run for the Oregon Legislature in June 2010 as a Republican for House District 29. [1] In November 2010,she defeated Democrat Katie Riley with 9,035 votes to 8,009 to win the seat to replace Chuck Riley. [4] Chuck Riley,Katie Riley's husband,had declined to run for re-election for the seat to run for a seat in the Oregon State Senate. [5] Prior to her run for the House,she served on the Hillsboro Planning Commission where she helped save a heart attack victim's life by performing CPR at a meeting of the commission in November 2010. During the 2011 session she served as vice-chairperson of the revenue committee and was also a vice-chairperson on a ways and means subcommittee. [3] Brewer declined to run for Congress in August 2011 in the special election to replace David Wu who had resigned. [7] She divorced during the session and changed her name to Katie Eyre. [8] While in the House she was an opponent of the Columbia River Crossing project to replace the Interstate Bridge between Portland and Vancouver. [8] She lost her bid a re-election in November 2012,losing to Ben Unger. [9] She then returned to the Hillsboro Planning Commission. [10] [11]

Cornelius Pass Road is an arterial road over Cornelius Pass in the Tualatin Mountains west of Portland,Oregon,United States,also extending several miles to the south. Running north–south,the road stretches between U.S. Route 30 (US 30) on the north and Kinnaman Street,just south of Oregon Route 8 (OR 8),on the south. The road passes through Washington and Multnomah counties,crossing the Tualatin Mountains at Cornelius Pass,581 feet (177 m) above sea level. Hillsboro Intermodal Transit Facility (HITF) is a parking garage with extensive bicycle facilities located in Hillsboro in the U.S. state of Oregon. Located next to Hillsboro Medical Center,the facility has nearly 800 parking spaces,including 13 that have charging stations for electric vehicles,as well as 35 secured spaces for bicycles that include showers and lockers. Opened in 2010,HITF also has 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2) of commercial space,which is mainly used by Portland Community College’s Hillsboro Center. The $16 million facility was a joint project between the city,Pacific University,and Tuality Healthcare.
The Forest Grove Leader was a weekly community newspaper in Forest Grove in the U.S. state of Oregon. Started in 2012,it was published by the Oregonian Publishing Company,which also published The Hillsboro Argus newspaper and continues to publish The Oregonian. The free publication competed with the News-Times in the city,a suburb of the Portland metropolitan area. In January 2016,it was combined with two other newspapers to form the Washington County Argus,but the Argus ceased publication only 14 months later,in March 2017.
