Katla is the second album by Norwegian singer-songwriter Ida Maria. It was released in Norway in September 2010 and internationally in June 2011.
The album was recorded in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, sometime during the Summer of 2010, while the Eyjafjallajökull volcano erupted, which led Ida Maria to title it Katla. The original edition of the album featured, on its cover, a photo of the volcano taken in 1918. Produced by Butch Walker (Avril Lavigne, P!NK), it was considered by Maria as a good opportunity to experiment. [3]
The two advance tracks before the international release were "Bad Karma" and "Cherry Red". [4] [ non-primary source needed ] In Norway, the first single was "Quite Nice People", which was promoted by a video directed by Stone Elvestad. [5] Additionally, "Bad Karma" was featured in the 2011 film Scream 4 .
The track "10,000 Lovers" is partially sung in Ida Maria's native Norwegian and, therefore, marks the first time the singer does so in an official release.
The original cover of the album is the photo of the 1918 eruption of the Katla Volcano. The included album booklet includes also artwork for every song in the album, the included artwork for "Bad Karma" was as well used for the single release. There's an extra photo which although unmarked, can stand as the artwork for "Gallery". The back cover of the album does not include "Gallery" in the track list.
For the US release, all artwork was printed on red tones instead of their original colors. It featured the "Bad Karma" artwork as the album's cover, the volcano photo was used as the song's artwork instead. New artwork for "Cherry Red" and "Devil" was included and there is no artwork for "Gallery" in this edition, although the song is in the back cover's track list.

Disturbed is an American heavy metal band from Chicago, formed in 1994. The band includes vocalist David Draiman, guitarist/keyboardist Dan Donegan, bassist John Moyer, and drummer Mike Wengren. Donegan and Wengren have been involved in the band since its inception, with Moyer replacing former bassist Steve "Fuzz" Kmak and Draiman replacing original lead vocalist Erich Awalt.

Eyjafjallajökull, sometimes referred to by the numeronym E15, is one of the smaller ice caps of Iceland, north of Skógar and west of Mýrdalsjökull. The ice cap covers the caldera of a volcano with a summit elevation of 1,651 metres (5,417 ft). The volcano has erupted relatively frequently since the Last Glacial Period, most recently in 2010, when, although relatively small for a volcanic eruption, it caused enormous disruption to air travel across northern and western Europe for a week.
Katla is a large volcano in southern Iceland. It is very active; twenty eruptions have been documented between 930 and 1918, at intervals of 20–104 years. It has not erupted violently for 105 years, although there may have been small eruptions that did not break the ice cover, including ones in 1955, 1999, and 2011.

"Karma" is a song by Welsh singer and songwriter Marina from her fourth studio album, Love + Fear (2019). Marina's former boyfriend Jack Patterson produced the song alongside Mark Ralph. It was written by Marina, Ben Berger, Ryan McMahon, Ryan Rabin, and Patterson. The song was released for streaming in the United States as the album's fifth and final single on 29 August 2019 by Atlantic Records. Marina was inspired by the Me Too movement and the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases when writing the song, although she was not initially aware of the inspiration. It is a pop song with a tropical beat, which lyrically describes a woman confronting a man, insisting he will eventually receive his karma.
