Kay Elizabeth Hull AO (born 3 February 1954) is a former Australian politician who served as a National Party member of the House of Representatives from 1998 to 2010,representing the Division of Riverina in New South Wales.
Hull was born in Guyra,New South Wales,and was a small business owner and operator before entering politics. [1] She was a councillor of the City of Wagga Wagga from 1991 to 1998. A small caricature of her is displayed on a Regional Express Saab 340 aircraft. [2]
On 6 April 2010,Kay Hull announced that she wouldn't be contesting the next Federal election,after 12 years serving the Riverina electorate. [3]
In April 2010,Charles Sturt University named the Kay Hull Veterinary Teaching Hospital in its South Campus in honour of Kay Hull. [4]
In May 2010,Regional Express Airlines named the Kay Hull Conference Room at the Australian Airline Pilot Academy in honour of Kay Hull. [5]
In March 2011,she was awarded the Freedom of the City by Wagga Wagga city council for her "tenacity,resilience,courage and conviction in her representation of her constituents." [6] Hull was appointed a member of the Order of Australia in the 2015 Queen's Birthday Honours,and was promoted to Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours. [7] [8]

Turvey Park is an inner southern suburb of Wagga Wagga in southern New South Wales,Australia. Its boundaries are defined by Fernleigh Road to the south,Glenfield Road to the west,Coleman Street to the north and to the east by Willans Hill. Turvey Park is characterised by single detached dwellings,constructed in the period from the early 1900s through to the 1960s. These dwellings vary from the very substantial,as found in parts of Coleman Street and Grandview Parade,to the brick bungalows of the northern end of the suburb between Urana and Coleman Streets,to modest public housing,and a mixture of brick and fibro and weatherboard cottages at the southern end of the suburb. Wagga Wagga Airport is a regional airport serving Wagga Wagga in New South Wales,Australia. The airport is located in the suburb of Forest Hill,11 kilometres (6.8 mi) south-east of the city centre,on land leased from the Department of Defence. It shares runways and some aviation facilities with the adjacent RAAF Base Wagga,which hosts ground training establishments and supporting military air traffic. Rex Airlines maintain a strong presence with its main engineering and maintenance base for its Saab 340 aircraft. The airline also conducts an in-house program to train cadet pilots through a campus of the Australian Airline Pilot Academy at the airport. In the 2020-21 financial year the airport recorded 71,862 passengers which made it the 36th busiest airport in Australia.

Eric Weissel Oval was a multi-use stadium in Wagga Wagga,New South Wales,Australia. It was named after local rugby league footballer Eric Weissel and opened in 1959. It was used mostly for rugby league matches and had a capacity of 10,000 people,with a record crowd of 11,685 recorded on 20 July 1988 for the Australia vs Papua New Guinea as part of the 1985–1988 Rugby League World Cup where the Aussies defeated the Kumuls by a then world record score of 70–8. The oval has hosted City vs Country (ARL),National Rugby League premiership and trial games,Brumbies vs Waikato Chiefs.

The Hampden Bridge was a heritage-listed wooden Allan Truss bridge over the Murrumbidgee River in Wagga Wagga,Australia. It was officially opened to traffic on 11 November 1895 and named in honour of the NSW Governor Sir Henry Robert Brand,2nd Viscount Hampden. The bridge carried the Olympic Highway,formerly the Olympic Way,between 1963 until the bridge's closure to highway traffic in October 1995,replaced by the Wiradjuri Bridge. The Hampden Bridge was subsequently converted to local traffic use,then pedestrian use only,and finally demolished in 2014.

Daryl William Maguire is a former Australian politician who was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Wagga Wagga for the Liberal Party from 1999 to 2018. On 30 March 2011,Maguire was appointed to Government Whip in the O'Farrell-Stoner Liberal/National coalition government;he had been Opposition Whip for the Coalition since 2003. On 13 July 2018,after admitting at a corruption inquiry that he sought payment over a property deal,Maguire resigned from the Liberal Party. He resigned from Parliament on 3 August. Between 2013 and August 2020,Maguire had an "intimate" relationship with Gladys Berejiklian,who became Premier of New South Wales during that time. He had been estranged from his wife since 2013,and divorce proceedings started in 2018.

HMAS Wagga (J315),named after the city of Wagga Wagga,New South Wales was one of 60 Bathurst-class corvettes constructed during World War II,and one of 36 initially manned and commissioned solely by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). During the war,the ship operated primarily in New Guinea waters. After war service,the corvette was placed in reserve,but she was recommissioned in 1951 as a training vessel,and was repeatedly moved into and out of reserve. Wagga was decommissioned in 1960,making her the last of the Australian-operated corvettes.

Noel Jeffrey Hicks is a former Australian politician. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1980 to 1998,representing the New South Wales seats of Riverina and Riverina-Darling for the National Party. He also served as mayor of Broken Hill,New South Wales,in the 1970s.
