Kearen Pang is a Hong Kong cross-media creator who has written, directed and acted in theatrical productions and films. She graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and joined the Chung Ying Theater Company in 1998 as a full-time actor. She also participated in the theater in different positions, including stage director, musical, choreographer and producer. She left Chung Ying in 2003. In 2004 she studied in Paris Studio Magenia for mime and physical theater. Her first film script was with Pang Ho-Cheung, co-director of the Berlin International Film Festival Silver Bear Award film Isabella (2006). In 2005 she founded Kearen Pang Productions. She was awarded the Best Actress (Comedy/Farce) at the Hong Kong Drama Awards.[ citation needed ] In 2010, '’Sylvia'’ – an American drama was produced by Kearen Pang Production. Kearen was the producer and main actress of the play – Sylvia. This production was awarded as the 10 Most Popular Production of the Year in 2010, in the Hong Kong Drama Award.[ citation needed ] "Sylvia" was then rerun in June 2011. Kearen was elected by CNNgo.com as one of "The Hong Kong Hot List: 20 People to Watch”, her drama play and script was described as “full of subtle drama and stealthy sentimentality that creeps into audiences hearts”.[ citation needed ] In 2011, Kearen was elected by RTHK and Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies as "The Most Impressive Actress" in HK theatre in past 20 years.[ citation needed ]

Cheung Ying was a Cantonese actor, writer and director from Hong Kong. He was born to a Fujian family. His father brought him to Hong Kong when he was young. His father was a founder of Fok Hing Chu Choi Hang (福興築材行) in Nam Pak Hong. Some of his siblings studied abroad in Italy and Japan. Cheung Ying could not go to Japan for his further study as his mom became sick after he graduated from Wah Yan College.

Kao Pao-shu or Gao Baoshu was a Chinese actress, producer, writer and film director who appeared in over 100 films during her career. Originally from China, Kao moved to Hong Kong in 1951, where she acted in minor roles before joining Shaw Brothers Studio in 1958. Here, she starred in over 80 films, working alongside directors Yueh Feng and Cheng Kang, and she made her directorial debut in 1970 in Lady with a Sword. Later she started her own company, producing films throughout the 1970s before she retired in the 1980s. In July 2000, she died at the age of 68.

Mama's Affair is a 2022 Hong Kong drama film written and directed by Kearen Pang. Starring Teresa Mo, Keung To, Jer Lau, Kaki Sham and Tang Lai Ying, the film follows a former talent manager and housewife, who discovers a new star, then she finds it difficult to balance her family and her career life. The film had its world premiere at 17th Osaka Asian Film Festival in competition section on 12 March 2022, and was released on 11 August 2022 in Hong Kong.
