Galatasaray Spor Kulübü is a Turkish sports club based on the European side of the city of Istanbul in Turkey. Most notable for its association football department, the club also consists of various other departments including basketball, wheelchair basketball, volleyball, water polo, handball, athletics, swimming, rowing, sailing, judo, bridge, motorsport, equestrian, esports, and chess. Galatasaray S.K. is among the key members of the Galatasaray Community Cooperation Committee together with Galatasaray University and the prestigious Galatasaray High School.
Gençlerbirliği Spor Kulübü, commonly known as Gençlerbirliği, is a Turkish sports club based in Ankara. Formed in 1923, Gençlerbirliği are nicknamed Ankara Rüzgârı or simply Gençler. Florya Metin Oktay Facilities, is the training ground and academy base of the Turkish football club Galatasaray SK. The Florya training camp land was brought during the presidency of Suphi Batur, built and opened during Professor Ali Uras presidency and was expanded and improved during both Ali Tanriyar and Alp Yalman presidencies. It was opened on August 1, 1981. Located in Florya, Istanbul and named after the club's legendary goalscorer Metin Oktay, the sports complex covers an area of 110,224 m2 (1,186,440 sq ft). It is used for first team and youth team training and matches, as well as by many of the other sports teams at the club, including those for basketball and volleyball. Facility is fully operational.
