Kenneth Kamwi Matengu (born 1978 in Katima Mulilo,Namibia) is a Namibian professor and vice-chancellor of the University of Namibia since 2018 after he replaced retired Prof. Lazarus Hangula in August 2018. He was Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research,Innovation and Resources Mobilization at the University of Namibia from 2016 to 2018. [2] [3] On 29 June 2018,Matengu was appointed as the third vice-chancellor of the University of Namibia becoming the youngest person to assume the position. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
Matengu did his high school at Caprivi Senior Secondary. He holds a Certificate in International Relations from the University of Tampere,Bachelor's degree in Geography and Sociology from the University of Namibia,Doctor of Philosophy,Ph.D (exemia cum laude) in Innovation Diffusion and Development from the University of Eastern Finland. He has published 50 peer review articles,books and book chapters,as well as international conference papers. [9] [10] [11]

The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST),formerly known as Polytechnic of Namibia,is a public university located in the city of Windhoek,Namibia. Andrew Niikondo is its acting vice-chancellor. NUST was headed by the founding vice-chancellor Tjama Tjivikua until March 2019. Lazarus Hangula has been the vice-chancellor of the University of Namibia,from 2004 to 2018. He replaced Peter Katjavivi,who left to become an ambassador for Namibia. Hangula earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz in Germany. Before his appointment as vice-chancellor he served in various other roles at UNAM,among them Pro vice-chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research. Hangula was a member of Namibia's Delimitation Commission,a body advising on the country's administrative division.
