Kenneth Edward Desmond Carroll (born 22 March 1983) is an Irish cricketer. He was born at Booterstown,Dublin,educated at Oatlands College,Stillorgan,and currently works for the Irish postal service,An Post. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm leg break bowler. He currently plays for Railway Union and has represented the Southern XI,Ireland U-23,Ireland A and made his debut for the senior team in 2006.
The Dublin-born player has played in the 2006 European Championships having represented Ireland's Under-23 team in the same tournament earlier in the year,winning the award for Player of the Tournament. He also played in the 2006 EurAsia Cricket Series,but Ireland's A team finished bottom of their group in the competition. Carroll made his World Cup debut against Sri Lanka in Ireland's last 'Super 8's match and also opened the batting against India and South Africa in the recent Future Cup in Belfast.
Carroll has also played for the Ireland men's national field hockey team,winning several caps. He is currently part of the A training squad. Carroll also captained his club side,Railway Union,to a Neville Cup in 2011 and a first Men's Irish Hockey League qualification ever for the club.

Johnston was subsequently named captain of Ireland, and was a regular fixture in the national team until his retirement in 2013. He coached the Hong Kong national cricket team from 2019 to 2022.

The club was founded in 1904 and was originally known as the Railway and Steam Packet Athletic and Social Union. Railway Union women's field hockey and women's rugby union teams both play in the top level of their respective national leagues. Jamie Dwyer is an Australian field hockey player. He currently plays for YMCC Coastal City Hockey Club in the Melville Toyota League in Perth, Western Australia. He played over 365 matches for Australia and scored over 244 goals. He represented Australia at the 2004 Summer Olympics where he won a gold medal and the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics where Australia won bronze medals. He has also represented Australia at the 2006 Commonwealth Games where he won a gold medal and the 2010 Commonwealth Games where he also won gold. He has won silver medals at the 2002 Men's Hockey World Cup and the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup. He won a gold medal at the 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup and the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
The Collingwood Cup is an association football cup competition featuring university teams from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. University College Dublin were the inaugural winners, and later became the cup's most successful team. Nicola Evans, also referred to as Nikki Evans, is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. Evans has also won Women's Irish Hockey League titles with Railway Union, UCD and Hermes-Monkstown. In the 2013–14 Evans was a member the UCD team that completed a national double, winning both the league and the Irish Senior Cup.
Graham Shaw is a former Ireland men's field hockey international and the current coach of the New Zealand women's national field hockey team. Between 2002 and 2009 he made 151 appearances for Ireland and also represented them at the 2007 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. As a coach he guided the Ireland women to the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final, winning the silver medal. As a player Shaw won Irish Senior Cup and EuroHockey Club Trophy titles with both Glenanne and Monkstown. On 9 May 2010 Shaw featured in two Irish Senior Cup finals on the same day, coaching Loreto to victory in the women's final before going onto play for Glenanne in the men's final. As a player coach, he also guided Monkstown to three successive Irish Hockey League titles in 2012–13, 2013–14 and 2014–15.
Glenanne Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Dublin 24, South Dublin, Ireland. The club enters teams in the Men's Irish Hockey League, the Irish Senior Cup and the Irish Junior Cup. Glenanne has represented Ireland in European competitions. They won the 2008 EuroHockey Club Trophy and were European Cup Winners' Cup runners up in 2002.
Cork Harlequins Hockey and Cricket Club is a multi-sports club based in Cork City in Ireland. The club was founded in 1925. Although Harlequins is best known for its field hockey and cricket teams, during its history the club has also organised teams in various other sports including table tennis, association football, rugby union and tennis. In 2008–09 Cork Harlequins were founder members of both Men's Irish Hockey League and the Women's Irish Hockey League. As of 2018–19, the club's senior women's team played in the national league Division 1 but have played in Division 2 since 2021 and the Women's Irish Senior Cup. The club's senior men's team have also played the Men's Irish Senior Cup and were All-Ireland club champions in 2002. The senior men's team currently plays in the national league Division 2. Reserve teams play in the Men's Irish Junior Cup and the Women's Irish Junior Cup. Cork Harlequins have also represented Ireland in European competitions.
Harold Alexander Cahill, also known as Harry Cahill, was a Great Britain and Ireland men's field hockey international goalkeeper. He represented Great Britain at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics. Between 1953 and 1973 he made 72 senior appearances for Ireland. He also represented Ireland at the 1970 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. In 1961 Cahill won an Irish Senior Cup winners medal with Belfast YMCA. In 2006 he was inducted into the inaugural Irish Hockey Association Hall of Fame. He died on 18 September 2009 while on holiday in France.
