James was elected in the 2022 Grenadian general election at the age of 24 becoming the country's youngest ever legislator. [3]
She was immediately appointed Minister of Climate Resilience, Environment and Renewable Energy in the Cabinet of Grenada. [4] She later attended the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Sharm El Sheikh. [5]

The United States invasion of Grenada began at dawn on 25 October 1983. The United States and a coalition of six Caribbean nations invaded the island nation of Grenada, 100 miles (160 km) north of Venezuela.
