Kevin Decker (born August 22, 1988) is an American college football coach and former player. He is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Old Dominion University, positions he has held since 2023.
Decker grew up in Armonk, New York and attended the Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut. [1] [2] He went 34-1 in three years as Brunswick's starting quarterback and won three consecutive New England Class C titles. Decker finished his high school career with 5,763 passing yards and 75 touchdown passes. [3]
Decker played college football at the University of New Hampshire. Decker redshirted his true freshman season and was a backup quarterback for his next three seasons for the Wildcats. [4] He was named the starting quarterback going into his redshirt senior season. [5] [6] In his only season as a starter, Decker passed for 3,272 yards and 22 touchdowns while also rushing for 429 yards and nine touchdowns and was named the Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Year. [7]
Decker began his coaching career at the Brunswick School, where he served as the school's quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator for two years. He was hired as an assistant to his former New Hampshire offensive coordinator Tim Cramsey at Montana State in 2015 for his collegiate coaching position. [8] Decker was hired by Brown as a tight ends coach after one season at Montana State and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2018. [9]
Decker was then hired by Fordham head coach Joe Conlin to serve as the Rams' quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator in 2019. After the 2020 FCS season was postponed to the spring of 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Decker studied then-Central Florida head coach Josh Heupel's offense and began installing it leading into the Rams' 2021 season. [10] [11] During the 2022 season, Fordham's offensive became the second team in FCS history to average over 600 yards of total offense per game. [12]
Decker was hired as the offensive coordinator at Old Dominion on December 5, 2022. [13]
Joshua Kenneth Heupel is an American college football coach and former player who is the head football coach at the University of Tennessee. Previously he was head coach at the University of Central Florida, where he compiled a 28–8 record.
Kliff Timothy Kingsbury is an American professional football coach and former quarterback who is the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, finishing in the top three in several school passing records before being selected in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL draft by the New England Patriots. He was a member of several other NFL and CFL teams before entering coaching in 2008.
William Scott Musgrave is an American football coach and former player who is the senior offensive assistant for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He is a former quarterback, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for multiple NFL teams. He played college football for the Oregon Ducks, earning all-conference honors in the Pac-10. He is also the uncle of Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave.
Douglas Keith Nussmeier is an American football coach and former player who is the quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played professionally as a quarterback in the NFL and Canadian Football League (CFL). Nussmeier played college football for the Idaho Vandals football, winning the Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding offensive player in NCAA Division I-AA. He was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 1994 NFL draft. He finished his playing career with the CFL's BC Lions.
Patrick Carl Shurmur is an American football coach who serves as the offensive coordinator at the University of Colorado Boulder. Prior to joining the staff at Colorado, he most recently served as the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL) from 2020 to 2021. A 32-year coaching veteran, Shurmur has 21 seasons of NFL experience, including the last 11 years as a head coach or offensive coordinator. Shurmur has four years of experience as a head coach, working in that role with the New York Giants from 2018 to 2019 and with the Cleveland Browns from 2011 to 2012. He also served as interim head coach for Philadelphia Eagles at the end of the 2015 season. He has been an offensive coordinator for seven seasons, previously coaching in that role with the Minnesota Vikings (2016–2017), Philadelphia Eagles (2013–2015) and the St. Louis Rams (2009–2010).
Richard (Ricky) Santos is an American former gridiron football quarterback who is currently the head coach for the New Hampshire Wildcats football team. He played college football at New Hampshire, and was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2008.
Kevin William O'Connell, nicknamed "KOC", is an American professional football coach and former quarterback who is the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He was the quarterback for the San Diego State Aztecs and was selected by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2008 NFL draft. He also played for the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and San Diego Chargers before retiring in 2012. O'Connell's NFL coaching career began in 2015; he held various assistant coaching roles on the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, and Los Angeles Rams.
Troy Scott Taylor is an American football coach and former player who is currently the head football coach at Stanford. He played professionally as a quarterback for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). Taylor played college football at California-Berkeley and was selected by the Jets in the fourth round of the 1990 NFL draft.
John Michael Skelton is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Fordham Rams and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft.
Beau Daniel Baldwin is an American football coach and former player. He is the quarterbacks coach for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Previously, he was the head football coach for the Cal Poly Mustangs, a position he held from December 2019 to 2022. Baldwin previously served as the head football coach at Central Washington University in 2007 and at Eastern Washington University from 2008 to 2016. He led the 2010 Eastern Washington Eagles football team to an NCAA Division I Football Championship. Baldwin was the offensive coordinator for the California Golden Bears from 2017 to 2019 and for the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2023.
Joe Moorhead is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for the University of Akron, a position he has held since 2022. Moorhead served as the head football coach at Fordham University from 2012 to 2015 and Mississippi State University from 2018 to 2019. Prior to entering coaching, Moorhead played as a quarterback at Fordham from 1992 to 1995 and professionally for the Munich Cowboys of the German Football League from 1996 to 1997.
Dave Patenaude is an American football coach. Patenaude spent the 2023 season as an Analyst at the University of Virginia. He was previously the offensive coordinator at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to coming to Georgia Tech, Patenaude was the offensive coordinator at Columbia University, Georgetown University, Coastal Carolina University, and Temple University, where he produced multiple All-Americans. Patenaude also served as the head football coach at University of New Haven for two seasons, from 2002 to 2003, before the program was temporarily discontinued.

He has been a member of the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the Arlington Renegades of the XFL. He has also been a member of The Spring League's (TSL) 2021 season, where he led the Conquerors to finish as North Division runner-ups.
