Macon County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2020 United States Census, it had a population of 103,998. Its county seat and most populous city is Decatur.

Michael Leo Kehoe is an American politician who is the governor-elect of Missouri. A member of the Republican Party, he serves as the 48th lieutenant governor of Missouri, having been in office since June 18, 2018. Kehoe previously served in the Missouri Senate, representing the state's 6th senatorial district, and served as Majority Leader from 2015 to 2018. On June 18, 2018, Governor Mike Parson appointed Kehoe as Missouri's lieutenant governor. Both Parson and Kehoe were elected to a full term in 2020.
Andy Manar is a former Democratic member of the Illinois Senate. He represented the 48th district, including part or all of Christian, Macon, Macoupin, Madison, Montgomery, and Sangamon counties. Andy Manar is known for being the chief advocate for SB 1947, which made dramatic reforms to Illinois’ education funding formula. William James Campbell was an American attorney and politician in Illinois. From Pennsylvania, he came with his parents to southern Cook County, Illinois at a young age. Campbell attended public schools, then the University of Pennsylvania and the Union Law School. He co-founded Campbell & Custer, a prominent law firm that represented industries. He served in the Illinois Senate from 1878 to 1886, quickly rising to become its president. From 1883 to 1885, this made him acting Lieutenant Governor of Illinois. After his Senate experience, he returned to his law firm and was a member of the Republican National Committee.
Clyde A. "Chip" Perfect Jr. is a former Republican member of the Indiana Senate. He represented District 43, which includes all of the counties of Ohio and Jennings along with parts of the counties of Bartholomew, Dearborn, Decatur, Jackson, and Ripley. He was elected to the Senate in 2014, succeeding Johnny Nugent. He was a member of the Senate's committees on agriculture, local government, natural resources, and pensions and labor. Perfect introduced a bill in 2019 to remove restrictions on child labor, raising conflict-of-interest concerns, as this would likely benefit his business.
Dan Caulkins is a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 88th district of Illinois, USA. The district, located in east central Illinois, includes all or parts of Livingston, DeWitt, Macon, McLean and Piatt counties. In the 2018 Republican primary, Caulkins defeated Todd Henricks, the Cerro Gordo C.U.S.D. #100 Board of Education president, and Randy Keith, the Piatt County Board chairman. He defeated Democratic candidate Jen McMillan in the 2018 general election. Caulkins was on the city council in Decatur, Illinois, from 2005 until 2009 and as a member of the Eastern Illinois University Board of Trustees from 2015 until 2018. He owned a number of assisted living facilities until retiring in 2015.
