Kevin Young (born July 16, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman.
A native of White Rock, British Columbia, Young spent five seasons of major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey League. He then went to play CIS hockey with the University of New Brunswick, where in his rookie season he was recognized for his outstanding play when he was awarded the 2004 Clare Drake Award as the CIS Rookie of the Year.
Prior to moving to college, Don Cherry was quoted as saying," Kevin Young is the greatest prospect to come from the Semiahmoo Minor Hockey Association in recent history."
As a professional, Young has played in both North America and Europe, with locations including the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, and France.
During the 2012–13 season Young played in the Central Hockey League (CHL) with the Wichita Thunder where he scored 24 goals and 35 assists for 59 points, and was named the CHL's Most Outstanding Defenceman. [1]
On August 29, 2013, the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL signed Young for the 2013–14 season. In 56 games with the Eagles, Young produced 6 goals and 35 points from the blueline before suffering a first round defeat in the playoffs.
On June 12, 2014, Young opted to sign a one-year contract with the Allen Americans of the ECHL. [2] In the 2014–15 season, Young contributed with 8 goals and 44 points from the blueline, ranking 8th in the league amongst defenseman and later helped the American capture their first Kelly Cup Championship.
In the following 2015–16 season, Young was traded after 3 games with the Americans to the Reading Royals in exchange for Jonathan Parker on October 19, 2015. [3]

The Central Hockey League (CHL) was a North American mid-level minor professional ice hockey league which operated from 1992 until 2014. It was founded by Ray Miron and Bill Levins and later sold to Global Entertainment Corporation, which operated the league from 2000 to 2013, at which point it was purchased by the individual franchise owners. As of the end of its final season in 2014, three of the 30 National Hockey League teams had affiliations with the CHL: the Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Wichita Thunder are a minor league hockey team based in Wichita, Kansas. The team played in the Central Hockey League from 1992 until 2014, and then in the ECHL since the 2014–15 season. From 1992 until December 2009, the Thunder played in the Britt Brown Arena located in the northern Wichita suburb of Park City. In January 2010, the team began playing its home games at the newly built Intrust Bank Arena. The Thunder are currently the ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks.
The Tulsa Oilers are a professional ice hockey team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and play in the ECHL. The Oilers played their home games at the Tulsa Convention Center until 2008 when they moved into the new BOK Center. For many years, the Tulsa Oilers name was shared with Tulsa's former minor-league baseball team that pre-dated the Tulsa Drillers. To reduce confusion in local news reporting, the hockey team was often called the "Ice Oilers".
The Bloomington PrairieThunder were a minor professional ice hockey team based in Bloomington, Illinois. They were a member of the Central Hockey League in the Turner Conference. The team was originally a member of the United Hockey League prior to its merger into the CHL in 2010. They played their home games at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Theo "Teddy" Peckham is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently signed with the Elora Rocks of the WOSHL. He is the half-brother of Angela James, one of the first female hockey players to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Their father, Leo James, was an African American from Mississippi who came to Canada to escape racial segregation.
Andrew Martens is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who most notably played for the Wichita Thunder of the then Central Hockey League.
The Allen Americans are a professional ice hockey team headquartered at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, which currently plays in the ECHL. The team was founded in 2009 in the Central Hockey League (CHL) where they played for five seasons, winning the Ray Miron President's Cup twice. The CHL folded in 2014 and the ECHL accepted the remaining CHL teams as members for the 2014–15 season. In their first two seasons in the ECHL, Allen advanced to the Kelly Cup finals, winning the championship in both years. The team is led by President Jonny Mydra and head coach/general manager Chad Costello. Currently, the Americans are affiliated with the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators and the American Hockey League's Belleville Senators.
Kevin Connauton is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 83rd overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Connauton has also played for the Dallas Stars, Columbus Blue Jackets, Arizona Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, and Philadelphia Flyers.

Don Parsons is an American former professional ice hockey player. Parsons is noted for being a prolific goal scorer who briefly held the modern minor league goal-scoring record from 2008 to 2010.
Daniel Tetrault is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman, having last played for and was a team captain with the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL. Tetrault was originally drafted 91st overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. From 2017 to 2021, he was head coach of the Rapid City Rush, leading the team to a 116–134–25 record over four seasons and never making a playoff appearance.
