The Kia POP is an electric concept car presented by Kia Motors at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. [1]
The Kia POP concept was developed by the South Korean brand's European Design Centre, located in Frankfurt, Germany and represents a vision of the future urban electric transport.
Chrome-coloured, three-metre-long three-seater with an electric drive train, oblong-shaped side windows and front-hinged doors, the POP concept definitely shows a very different image of a car, which was the objective of the designers.
The design team says that to create the POP concept the inspiration was drawn from several different areas rather than the automotive world in order to break boundaries.
The POP has an interior purple colour that was chosen to express a calm and peaceful environment. It was inspired on a picture of a space shuttle.
The Kia POP concept is powered by an electric engine with a power output of 50 kW and 190 Nm of torque. It can run on a single charge for about 160 kilometres (99 mi), with its power being supplied by compact lithium polymer gel batteries.

Hyundai Motor Company, often abbreviated to Hyundai Motors and commonly known as Hyundai, is a South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. Hyundai Motor Company was founded in 1967. Currently, the company owns 33.88 percent of Kia Corporation, and also fully owns two marques including its luxury cars subsidiary, Genesis Motor, and an electric vehicle sub-brand, Ioniq. Those three brands altogether comprise the Hyundai Motor Group.
Kia Corporation, commonly known as Kia, is a South Korean multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. The Kia K5, formerly known as the Kia Optima, is a mid-size car manufactured by Kia since 2000 and marketed globally through various nameplates. First generation cars were mostly marketed as the Optima, although the Kia Magentis name was used in Europe and Canada when sales began there in 2002. For the second-generation models, Kia used the Kia Lotze and Kia K5 name for the South Korean market, and the Magentis name globally, except in the United States, Canada and Malaysia, where the Optima name was retained until the 2021 model year. The Kia Ceed is a compact car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Kia since 2006 exclusively for the European market. The Ceed was first unveiled in 28 September 2006 at the Paris Motor Show.
