Kingsley Club is a private golf course located near Kingsley, Michigan. Opened in 2001 with the motto "In the spirit of the game", the course is private. [1]
Unlike many modern courses with extravagant clubhouses, the Kingsley Club's facilities are relatively low-key; the course is located on a dirt road (which narrows to a single lane at one point) well away from the nearest highway. The clubhouse holds just a small pro shop and food service area. Cottages overlooking the 17th hole are available for rental to members. The course features a practice putting green and driving range. Golfers can either walk the course or ride in electric carts, and forecaddies are available for player assistance.
Designed to evoke links-style golf from the British Isles, [2] the course is covered with rolling hills of natural terrain and more than 120 bunkers. Course designer Mike DeVries used much of the natural landscape to shape the course, moving only about 20,000 cubic yards of earth during construction; one member described the natural construction of the course by saying "They found the course on the land. They moved only a little dirt to uncover it." [3]

The member tees are a mixture of championship tees (holes 2, 4, 8, 11, 13, and 18) and blue tees. The par-3 ninth hole has two separate sets of tee boxes; the longer tees approach the green from the south, the shorter from the west.
In 2013, Golfweek magazine ranked the course the 24th on its list of the best modern courses. [4] Links Magazine placed the course as the 57th best course in the United States [5]
A golf course is the grounds on which the sport of golf is played. It consists of a series of holes, each consisting of a tee box, a fairway, the rough and other hazards, and a green with a cylindrical hole in the ground, known as a "cup". The cup holds a flagstick, known as a "pin". A standard round of golf consists of 18 holes, and as such most courses contain 18 distinct holes; however, there are many 9-hole courses and some that have holes with shared fairways or greens. There are also courses with a non-standard number of holes, such as 12 or 14.
The Old Course at St Andrews, also known as the Old Lady or the Grand Old Lady, is considered the oldest golf course. It is a public course over common land in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland and is held in trust by the St Andrews Links Trust under an act of Parliament. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews clubhouse sits adjacent to the first tee, although it is but one of many clubs that have playing privileges on the course, along with some other non-clubhouse owning clubs and the general public. Originally known as the "golfing grounds" of St Andrews, it was not until the New Course was opened in 1895 that it became known as the Old Course.

Royal Portrush Golf Club is a private golf club in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The 36-hole club has two links courses, the Dunluce Links and the Valley Links. The former is one of the courses on the rota of the Open Championship and last hosted the tournament in 2019.

Aronimink Golf Club is a private country club in the eastern United States, located in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, a suburb west of Philadelphia. Its championship layout is consistently rated among the nation's top golf courses. Aronimink is currently ranked 78th in Golf Digest's "Greatest Courses," 44th in "Toughest Courses" and 55th in Golfweek's "Classic Courses." In 2010, Aronimink was ranked #4 among the toughest courses on the PGA Tour by Links magazine.
Oakland Hills Country Club is a private golf club in the central United States, located in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, a suburb northwest of Detroit. It consists of two 18-hole courses designed by Donald Ross: the South Course (1918) and the North Course (1923).
Montauk Downs State Park is a state park in Montauk, New York, United States. The park is located in Suffolk County near the eastern tip of Long Island's South Fork, about one mile (1.6 km) east of the hamlet of Montauk. Montauk Downs State Park includes an 18-hole championship golf course, driving range, tennis courts, swimming pool, and restaurant facilities.
The Ridgewood Country Club (RCC) is a country club located in Paramus, New Jersey, a suburb northwest of New York City in Bergen County. It was founded in 1890 in neighboring Ho-Ho-Kus, but has been at its current location since 1926. Its facilities were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
Bellerive Country Club is a golf country club in the central United States, located in Town and Country, Missouri, a suburb west of St. Louis. With the Old Warson, Westwood, and St. Louis country clubs, it is considered one of the "big four" old-line elite St. Louis clubs. The course has hosted three major championships: the U.S. Open in 1965, and the PGA Championship in 1992 and 2018.
Panmure Golf Club is a golf club close to the village of Barry, Angus, Scotland. It is one of the clubs that originally helped purchase the Amateur Championship trophy, and is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world, dating back to 1845. It is a private club that plays over the Barry Links, and is sometimes referred to as Barry or Panmure Barry. Due to its location next to Carnoustie it is often overlooked by visitors, and with the number of members limited to 500 it is one of the most underplayed courses in Scotland.
The Santa Anita Golf Course, located in the city of Arcadia, California, was operated by Santa Anita Associates for the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation from 1986-2016. This golf course was historically considered to be a part of Arcadia County Park. However, new operators will take over beginning September 2016.
The Union League Golf and Country Club of San Francisco was constructed in 1929 in Millbrae, California, United States. It was one of the most ambitious golf and country club projects of its era in Northern California. It was conceived in the prosperous time that proceeded the Great Depression by a prominent group of San Francisco businessmen who would spare no expense during the design-phase of the project. The golf course was designed by Alister MacKenzie who considered it one of the top three courses on the West Coast. The unforeseen economic downturn of the Great Depression caused the club to become financially insolvent and in 1933 it was reorganized as Millbrae Country Club. In 1945 the club was named Green Hills Country Club.

Colbert Hills Golf Course is a public golf course located in Manhattan, Kansas. Utilizing the natural ecosystem of the surrounding Flint Hills, it is a links-style course with few trees. From its opening to 2011 Colbert Hills was ranked by Golfweek as the best public course in Kansas, and it has ranked as the second-best from 2012 to present. Among both public and private courses, it has also been continuously ranked by Golf Digest among the top eight overall in the state.
The Whippoorwill Club is a private country club facility near Armonk, New York. In 2010 Golfweek magazine ranked the Whippoorwill golf course as the 73rd best classic course in the United States. The club is not just about golf. There is a swimming pool, tennis courts, paddle ball courts and golf simulators, as well as the traditional club house with first class dining facilities. The Club offers golf, tennis and house memberships.
Desert Forest Golf Club is a par-72 golf course and club located in Carefree, Arizona. The course is 7201 yards long and located underneath Black Mountain in the Sonoran desert.
Sand Hills Golf Club is a country club in Mullen, Nebraska. Notable for its remote location and minimalist design among the sandhills of Nebraska, it is consistently ranked among the top golf courses in the world and the best courses designed since 1960, notably being named #1 in Golfweek magazine's 2022 list of the "Top 200 Modern Courses", defined as courses built no earlier than 1960, in the United States. The golf course architecture website Golf Club Atlas called it "the most natural course built in the United States since World War I".
Sharp Park Golf Course is a public golf course in Pacifica in Northern California in the United States. It was designed in 1931 by Alister MacKenzie and is owned and operated by the city of San Francisco. It is the only public oceanside golf course designed by MacKenzie in the United States.
