Moana Hope is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played in the AFL Women's competition from 2017 to 2019, including 13 matches over two seasons at Collingwood and a further seven matches over one season at North Melbourne. Each followed an extended career at state-league level before the creation of a national league.
The 2017 AFL Women's season was the inaugural season of the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition, the highest-level senior women's Australian rules football competition in Australia. The season ran from 3 February to 25 March, comprising a seven-round home-and-away season followed by a grand final contested by the top two clubs. Abbey Holmes is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She began playing football for the Waratah Football Club in the Northern Territory Football League in 2012 and won four consecutive premierships with the club, along with being the league's leading goalkicker the same four seasons. In 2014, she became the first woman to kick 100 goals in a season in an established football league, and in 2016 she was drafted in the inaugural AFL Women's draft by Adelaide.
Libby Birch is an Australian rules footballer who plays for North Melbourne in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne. She previously played netball and captained Victoria at the National Netball Championships. Birch is currently studying a Physiotherapy degree at La Trobe University. In 2016, Birch switched from netball to Australian rules football and was recruited by the Western Bulldogs as a rookie after having only played football for three months for the Darebin Falcons in the VFL Women's.
Lara Filocamo is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the AFL Women's competition. Filocamo was drafted by Fremantle with their fourth selection and twenty-ninth overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the thirty-two point loss to the Western Bulldogs at VU Whitten Oval in the opening round of the 2017 season. She played every match in her debut season to finish with seven matches. She was delisted by Fremantle at the end of the 2018 season.
Tiah Toth is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the AFL Women's competition.

Beatrice Devlyn is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the AFL Women's competition. Devlyn was recruited by Fremantle as an injury replacement player in January 2017. She made her debut in the twenty-three point loss to Adelaide at Fremantle Oval in round four of the 2017 season. She played the next week before she was omitted for the round six match against Carlton to finish with two matches for the season. She was delisted at the end of the 2017 season. She was subsequently re-drafted as a rookie by Fremantle with pick No. 16 in the 2017 rookie draft.

McGuire was drafted by Fremantle with their fifth selection and thirty-third overall in the 2017 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the five-point win against Melbourne at Fremantle Oval in round three of the 2018 season. McGuire received a nomination for the 2018 AFL Women's Rising Star award after kicking two goals in the match. She was delisted by Fremantle at the end of the 2018 season. In August 2020, McGuire was delisted by West Coast.
Jade de Melo is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Port Adelaide in the AFL Women's (AFLW). After being overlooked in the national draft days earlier, de Melo was eventually drafted by Fremantle with their second selection and the 10th overall pick in the 2017 AFL Women's rookie draft. She made her debut in an 18-point loss to Greater Western Sydney at Fremantle Oval in round 5 of the 2018 season. She was delisted by Fremantle at the end of the 2018 season.
