Kirk Sanford Earlywine (born July 4, 1964) is an American college basketball coach who was most recently an assistant coach at the University of Idaho. Earlywine was head coach at Pfeiffer and Eastern Washington and has been an assistant coach at multiple other colleges.
Born in Indianapolis, Earlywine graduated from Campbell University in 1987 with a degree in physical education. He got his first coaching experience at Campbell, serving as a student assistant for the Fighting Camels.
Earlywine's first full-time coaching experience came under the tutelage of Rick Majerus, beginning in 1987 at Ball State University for two seasons. [1] Earlywine was part of the 1988–89 Ball State team that went 29–3 and qualified for the second round of the 1989 NCAA tournament. [2] Earlywine then followed Majerus for his next assistant coaching job at the University of Utah, whey they worked together from 1989 to 1993 during four successful seasons, including the 1990–91 season with a 30–4 record and NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. From 1993 to 1995, Earlywine was an assistant coach at Central Michigan under Leonard Drake. [1] Earlywine had his first head coaching job in 1995–96 at Pfeiffer University, an NCAA Division II school in North Carolina. Earlywine led Pfeiffer to a 21–8 record and NCAA D-II Tournament appearance in his only season at the helm. [1]
Earlywine returned to the Division I level, starting as an assistant coach at Milwaukee from 1996 to 1999. From 1999 to 2006, Earlywine was an assistant coach at Weber State for the entirety of Joe Cravens's tenure as head coach, during which Weber State qualified for the 2003 NCAA tournament. Earlywine spent the 2006–07 season on Benny Moss's staff at UNC Wilmington as an assistant. [1]
On June 14, 2007, Eastern Washington hired Earlywine to replace the fired Mike Burns. [4] Earlywine went 42–78 in four seasons at Eastern Washington. [5] On March 7, 2011, Eastern Washington made the decision not to renew Earlywine's contract. [6]
Earlywine worked for the regional TV network SWX Right Now as a college basketball color commentator during the 2011–12 season. [7] In 2012, Earlywine joined the staff of Don Verlin at Idaho as director of player development before being promoted to assistant coach in 2013. [1] In September 2019, three months after firing Verlin, Idaho placed Earlywine on administrative leave. [8]

William Francis "Bo" Ryan Jr. is an American former college basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team of the University of Wisconsin–Madison from 2001 to December 2015. Ryan served as the head men's basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville from 1984 to 1999 and at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee from 1999 to 2001. His overall collegiate coaching record was 747–233. Ryan was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.
Tim Floyd is a former American college basketball coach, most recently the head coach at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He was formerly the head coach of several teams in the NCAA and the NBA. Floyd is also known as the coach of the Chicago Bulls for four seasons. He announced his retirement from coaching after the UTEP game on November 27, 2017.
Richard Raymond Majerus was an American basketball coach and TV analyst. He coached at Marquette University (1983–1986), Ball State University (1987–1989), the University of Utah (1989–2004), and Saint Louis University (2007–2012). Majerus's most successful season came at Utah in the 1997–98 season, when the Utes finished as runners-up in the 1998 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Majerus was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019.

Dick Hunsaker is an American college basketball coach and the former head men's basketball coach at Utah Valley University. He is also a former head and assistant coach at Ball State University. As one of Rick Majerus's assistant coaches, he worked with the Cardinals for two seasons, including their berth in the 1989 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament.
The Utah Utes men's basketball team, also known as the Runnin' Utes, represents the University of Utah as an NCAA Division I program that plays in the Pac-12 Conference. They play their home games at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The school has made the NCAA tournament 29 times, which ranks 20th in NCAA history and tied for third most appearances behind UCLA and the University of Arizona in the Western United States. The Vandals, led by eighth year head coach Don Verlin, played their home games at the Cowan Spectrum, with a few early season games at Memorial Gym, and were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 21–13, 12–6 record in Big Sky play to finish in third place. They defeated Eastern Washington in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky tournament to advance to the semifinals where they lost to Montana. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to Seattle.
