Kjell Sigurd Fjalsett (born 1952) is a Norwegian singer and musician.

He made a name for himself in the Norwegian gospel and Christian pop scene as a teenager in the choir Believe, covering the song "Oh Happy Day" among other things. [1] He later formed the gospel group Frisk Luft together with Rune Larsen, Ivar Skippervold and Arnold Børud. The group formed by coincidence in 1972, when Larsen and Børud, performing at Hedmarktoppen, spotted the already-known Fjalsett and Skippervold in the audience and invited them onto the stage. [2] They released two LPs in the 1970s, and participated in a television show named Gospelkveld ('Gospel Evening'). [3] It was said to be the first Christian supergroup in Norway. [4] They made a public comeback in 1998, [3] and released the record Lifetime Friends in 2000. [5] In 2004, they followed with I'll Never Find Another You. [6] The group performs live every now and then.

He has also cooperated with songwriter and composer Rolf Løvland, among others on his solo debut record En dag (1976). [1] The record was certified as silver, as one of the few gospel records until then in Norway. Fjalsett emphasized the importance of song lyrics over music, but also stated that the songs needed a commercial appeal beyond the Christian listener segment. Fjalsett cited Andrae Crouch, David Gates and Bread as inspirations. [4] In 2007, Løvland was behind the single Reis meg opp, a cover version of "You Raise Me Up", which Fjalsett performed. The single charted on the list of Norwegian-language songs, Norsktoppen. [1] [7] In 1982, Fjalsett won the contest for the official FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1982 song. The song, titled Gullfeber ('Gold Fever') was written by Tore Aas and Jan Linnsund, performed by Kjell Fjalsett and Anne Lise Gjøstøl, and selected by a jury of three. Gullfeber narrowly edged out VM på ski, performed by Hanne Krogh. [8]

In 2007, Fjalsett participated in the anti-piracy campaign Piracy Kills Music. [9] He resides at Jar in Bærum, is married and has three children. [1]

"You Raise Me Up" is a song originally composed by the Norwegian-Irish duo Secret Garden. The music was written by Secret Garden's Rolf Løvland, and the lyrics by Brendan Graham. After the song was performed early in 2002 by the Secret Garden and their invited lead singer, Brian Kennedy, the song only became a minor UK hit. The song has been recorded by more than a hundred other artists including American songwriter Josh Groban in 2003 and Irish boy band Westlife in 2005 whose versions were hits in their countries. Welsh singer Aled Jones and all-female Irish ensemble Celtic Woman have also recorded successful covers.

Ole Børud is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, producer, and engineer known both for his solo recordings and as a member of the groups Arnold B. Family, Schaliach, Extol, and Fleshkiller. Børud, son of Norwegian gospel singer Arnold Børud, began performing music at age five as part of Arnold B. Family, a group which would compete in the Melodi Grand Prix three times. At age twelve, he released a Christian children's music album. He later ventured into hard rock and heavy metal bands, first in the two-man project Schaliach and then in Extol and, briefly, the hardcore punk band Selfmindead. Since the early 2000s, he has also recorded several solo albums in West Coast, pop, funk, and jazz styles: Chi-Rho (2002), Shakin' the Ground (2008), Keep Movin (2011), Someday at Christmas, Stepping Up (2014), and Outside the Limit (2019). He re-joined Extol in 2012, and in 2016 he co-founded a heavy metal side-project, Fleshkiller. Børud has also performed for Torun Eriksen and Sofian and collaborated with Larvik Stroband and the Oslo Gospel Choir, and has contributed to two hymn compilations, Takk, gode Gud, for alle ting: 20 sanger fra Barnesalmeboka and Søndagsskolen Synger. He has regularly appeared on various Norwegian television shows, including Det store korslaget and Stjernekamp, and in 2017 provided backing choral vocals in Jowst's performance of "Grab the Moment" in the 2017 Eurovision contest.

The son of gospel singer Arnold Børud, Ole began a career in music at age five as a member of the family musical group Arnold B. Family, a group which would participate in the Melodi Grand Prix three times. In 1988 at age twelve, Børud released a studio album of Christian children's music, Alle Skal Få Vite Det! In the mid- and late-1990s, Børud forayed into heavy metal music: He co-founded the death-doom project Schaliach in 1995 before joining the progressive death metal band Extol in 1996. He has also performed for or collaborated with Torun Eriksen, Sofian, Larvik Stroband, and the Oslo Gospel Choir.
