Ivar Skippervold (born 14 March 1949) is a Norwegian singer and musician.

He hails from Oslo, but moved to Lillesand as an adult. He took up music at an early age, and his first self-made music was protest songs. [1] He became Christian out of a "religious yearning", and his protest songs got a Christian tinge. [2] His first solo record, Hiroshima og spurven, came in 1975. [3] He had already, in 1972, formed the gospel group Frisk Luft together with Rune Larsen, Arnold Børud and Kjell Fjalsett. The group formed by coincidence when Larsen and Børud, performing at Hedmarktoppen, spotted Fjalsett and Skippervold in the audience and invited them onto the stage. [4] Frisk Luft released two LPs in the 1970s, and participated in a television show named Gospelkveld ('Gospel Evening'). [5] Frisk Luft was said to be the first Christian supergroup in Norway. [6]

Oslo Capital of Norway

Oslo is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Founded in the year 1040 as Ánslo, and established as a kaupstad or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada, the city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V of Norway around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 reduced its influence. After being destroyed by a fire in 1624, during the reign of King Christian IV, a new city was built closer to Akershus Fortress and named Christiania in the king's honour. It was established as a municipality (formannskapsdistrikt) on 1 January 1838. The city functioned as a co-official capital during the 1814 to 1905 Union between Sweden and Norway. In 1877, the city's name was respelled Kristiania in accordance with an official spelling reform – a change that was taken over by the municipal authorities only in 1897. In 1925 the city, after incorporating the village retaining its former name, was renamed Oslo.

Julestua was aired on TVNorge in 1989 with Skippervold and Trygve Wikstøl, [8] and På låven followed in 1992 on TV 2. [2] He also continued releasing albums, amassing about 40 releases. [6] Also, Frisk Luft made a public comeback in 1998, [5] and released the record Lifetime Friends in 2000. In 2004 they followed with I'll Never Find Another You. [6] The group performs live every now and then.

Advent Christian church season

Advent is a season observed in many Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas and the return of Jesus at the Second Coming. The term is a version of the Latin word meaning "coming". The term "Advent" is also used in Eastern Orthodoxy for the 40-day Nativity Fast, which has practices different from those in the West.
