Kjetil Rolness (born 13 July 1961) is a Norwegian sociologist with main interest in taste sociology and pop cultural expressions. He is also a writer, lecturer and entertainer. He is active as a social commentator in social media and a columnist for Aftenposten , and has published several books. [1] [2]

Born in Voss, he grew up in Bergen, Alta and Harstad. [2] While originally a left-wing, Rolness has become known for critical views on political correctness. [2] [3]

In music, Rolness is active as the lead vocalist alter ego Jens Pikenes in the campy band Penthouse Playboys. [1] The band's Christmas concert at the Rockefeller Music Hall has become a popular tradition in Norwegian music life since 1995. [2]

Holstein (station) Oslo metro station

Holstein is a station on the Sognsvann Line of the Oslo Metro in Norway. The station is located between Kringsjå and Østhorn stations. Holstein was opened during the Second World War, in 1941. Formerly Nordberg was the next southbound station, but it was closed in 1992, at the same time as Holstein was re-built with longer platforms and new ticket machines. Hadia Tajik

Hadia Tajik is a Pakistani-Norwegian jurist, journalist and politician from the Labour Party. She served as Minister of Labour and Social Inclusion from 2021 to 2022. She previously served as Minister of Culture from 2012 to 2013. She was 29 years of age at the time and became the youngest minister to serve in the Norwegian government. She is the first Cabinet member that is a Muslim. Tajik has served as a Member of Parliament representing Rogaland since 2017, and Oslo from 2009 to 2017. She was also the party’s deputy leader from 2015 until 2022.

Hege Storhaug Norwegian political activist and author (born 1962)

Hege Storhaug is a Norwegian political activist and author. Since the 1990s she has been known for her criticism of Islam and anti-immigration activism. She formerly worked briefly as a journalist, before she became involved in anti-immigration activism. She runs the small anti-immigration organization Human Rights Service with her partner, and holds the title information director within the organization. In 2015 she published the book Islam, den 11. landeplage which claimed that Islam is a "plague." Scholars and commentators have described her views as far-right and Islamophobic.

"Vi vil oss et land" is a famous phrase in the context of Norwegian nationalism, derived from a poem by Per Sivle. It has been evoked by many different groups, including during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, when an arrest order was issued on the deceased Sivle.
