The Trans-Siberian Railway, historically known as the Great Siberian Route and often shortened to Transsib, is a large railway system that connects European Russia to the Russian Far East. Spanning a length of over 9,289 kilometers, it is the longest railway line in the world. It runs from the city of Moscow in the west to the city of Vladivostok in the east.

Paveletsky station is one of Moscow's ten main railway stations. Originally called Saratovsky Railway Station, it was renamed after the settlement of Pavelets, when the railroad heading southeast from Moscow reached that point in 1899. The station's ornate original building, designed by architect Alexander Krasovsky, was built in 1900 and extensively reconstructed in the 1980s, and remains one of the biggest Moscow railway stations. In 1924, the station served as the place where Muscovites came to meet the body of deceased Lenin. The Lenin Funeral Train is still a permanent exhibit at the Museum of the Moscow Railway. The station is operated by the Moscow Railway.
Kiyevsky railway terminal also known as Moscow Kiyevskaya railway station is one of the nine railway terminals of Moscow, Russia. It is the only railway station in Moscow to have a frontage on the Moskva River. The station is located at the Eurasia Square, in the beginning of Bolshaya Dorogomilovskaya Street in Dorogomilovo District of Moscow. A hub of the Moscow Metro is located nearby.

Suifenhe is a county-level city in southeastern Heilongjiang province, People's Republic of China, located where the former Chinese Eastern Railway crosses the border with Russia's town of Pogranichny, Primorsky Krai. In January 2014, Suifenhe became the only Chinese city in which trading with Russian Ruble is officially allowed. The city shares its name with the Suifen River, and is under the administration of Mudanjiang Prefecture-level City.
Sochi Light Metro was a planned public transportation system in Sochi, Russia, with an intended completion date of 2013. The system was intended to be used during the 2014 Winter Olympics. The plans for the light metro were abandoned in favor of the reconstruction of the railway.

The Kiyevsky suburban railway line is one of eleven suburban lines used for suburban railway connections between Moscow, Russia, and surrounding areas in Moscow Oblast and Kaluga Oblast. The Kiyevsky suburban railway line connects Moscow with the stations in the southwest, in particular, with the towns of Aprelevka, Naro-Fominsk, Balabanovo, Obninsk, Maloyaroslavets, and Kaluga. The stations the line serves are located in Moscow, as well as in the towns of Odintsovo and Naro-Fominsk in Moscow Oblast, and in Borovsky and Maloyaroslavetsky Districts and the city of Kaluga of Kaluga Oblast. The suburban trains have their northeastern terminus at Moscow Kiyevsky railway station. In the southwestern direction, the suburban trains terminate at Solnechnaya, Novoperedelkino, Lesnoy Gorodok, Aprelevka, Bekasovo-1, Nara, Maloyaroslavets, Kaluga-1, and Kaluga-2. The section between Tikhonova Pustyn and Kaluga-1 follows the railway which proceeds further to Aleksin. The line is served by Moscow Railway.
