Koffi C. Akakpo is a Togolese academic administrator serving as the 19th president of Kentucky State University since 2023. He was previously the president and chief executive officer of Bluegrass Community and Technical College. Akapo was the deputy director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Akakpo earned a M.S. in managerial finance from the University of Lomé. [1] He completed a M.B.A. at Ashland University. [1] He graduated with a Ph.D. in higher education administration with a focus on community college leadership from the University of Toledo. [1] [2] His 2017 dissertation was titled,Community College Administrators’Perceptions of Ohio’s Performance-Funding Policy. [3] David L. Meabon was his doctoral advisor. [3]
At North Central State College,Akakpo worked in several roles including chief student services officer,chief operating officer,and vice president for business,administrative,and student services. [1] Akakpo was the deputy director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. [2] He joined Central State University as its director of academic financial planning and management. [1] He was president and chief executive officer of Bluegrass Community and Technical College for four years. [1] On July 1,2023,Akakpo became the 19th president of Kentucky State University. John Allen Roush is an American former academic administrator who was the 20th president of Centre College from 1998 to 2020. A graduate of Ohio University,Roush earned graduate degrees and began his career at Miami University,where he became executive assistant to the president in 1976. He departed to the University of Richmond in 1982,where he spent six years in administration before being elected to Centre's presidency. During his 22-year term,Centre established four student scholarship programs,nearly doubled the size of its faculty,led several successful fundraising campaigns,and renovated numerous academic,athletic,and residential buildings on campus. He announced his resignation in May 2019,effective June 2020,and was succeeded by Milton C. Moreland upon leaving office. Since that time,he has maintained his position on the University of Richmond board of trustees,received two honorary degrees,and spoken at Wofford College during its opening convocation in September 2021. In May 2021,Centre's Campus Center was renamed the Roush Campus Center,in honor of Roush and his wife,Susie.
