Nagaland is a landlocked state in the north-eastern region of India. It is bordered by the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh to the north, Assam to the west, Manipur to the south, and the Sagaing Region of Myanmar (Burma) to the east. Its capital city is Kohima and its largest city is the twin Chümoukedima–Dimapur. The state has an area of 16,579 square kilometres (6,401 sq mi) with a population of 1,980,602 as per the 2011 Census of India, making it one of the smallest states of India.
Kohima is the capital of the Northeastern Indian state of Nagaland. With a resident population of almost 100,000, it is the second largest city in the state. Kohima constitutes both a district and a municipality. The municipality covers 20 km2 (7.7 sq mi). The city lies on the foothills of Japfü section of the Barail Range located south of the District and has an average elevation of 1,261 metres.

Chümoukedima, formerly spelled Chumukedima, is a municipality in the Chümoukedima District of the Indian state of Nagaland. It is situated on the left bank of the Chathe and with its surrounding area that includes several other towns and villages, the Chümoukedima Metropolitan Area is the largest urban agglomeration in Nagaland in terms of area and third largest in terms of population, after Dimapur and Kohima.
Viswema, is a Southern Angami Naga village located 22 km south of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, India. With a resident population of 7417, it is the second biggest village in the state and is part of the contiguous built-up of the Kohima Metropolitan Area that extends into the neighboring areas of Jakhama, Kigwema and Khuzama in the Southern Angami region, forming the second largest urban agglomerations in Nagaland. Its vast territory also lies across the inter-state boundary in Manipur where notable features including Mount Tempü (Iso) at 9822 feet (2994m) also the highest peak in Manipur, the thick forest of Kezol-tsa and a major portion of the Dzüko Valley is located.
The Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ) is an autonomous government institute for undergraduate and postgraduate science education located at Jotsoma in the state of Nagaland, India. The college was established in 1961 with science education in higher secondary and under graduate levels.
St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Jakhama, is a college established and managed by the Diocese of Kohima, Nagaland. It is the first college established by the Catholic Church in Nagaland and is located in the southern part of the Kohima Metropolitan Area at Jakhama.
Miss Nagaland is a state beauty pageant held annually since 1989 in the Northeastern Indian state of Nagaland. Miss Nagaland does not officially send any of its winners or previous contestants to participate in other beauty pageants. Nevertheless, a number of its beauty queens have over the years gone on to compete independently in other beauty pageants at the regional and national levels, as well as internationally.

Modern College, located in Piphema, is a college in Nagaland. The college is located 22 kms from state capital Kohima and 18 kms from Chumukedima. Akaba Martin Longkümer, known professionally as Macnivil, is an Indian rapper, songwriter and music video director from Nagaland. He is considered as one of the pioneers of the Nagamese Hip hop scene in Nagaland. He further gained success after the release of his album Ura Uvie.
Legislative Assembly elections were held in Nagaland on 27 February 2023 to elect all 60 members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The votes were counted and the results were declared on 2 March 2023.
Kohima Chiethu Airport is a greenfield airport currently under construction at Chiethu, 25 kilometres north of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland in India. It will operate as a second airport for Nagaland with the existing Dimapur Airport continuing to operate. The new airport is being built by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) over an area of 645 acres.
Indira Gandhi Stadium is a football stadium in Kohima, Nagaland. Opened in 2003, the stadium hosts major regional football matches including The Northeast T. Ao Trophy and NSF Martyrs Trophy. With 20,000 seats, it is the largest stadium in Nagaland.

Chümoukedima District is the 15th district of the Indian state of Nagaland. It was created on 18 December 2021. The district is bounded by Kohima District to the east, Peren District to the south, Tseminyü District & Niuland District to the north-east, Dimapur District to the north and Karbi Anglong District of Assam to the west and north-west. The district headquarter is located in the municipality of Chümoukedima.
Capi is a Tenyidie newspaper published from Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. It is the oldest existing vernacular daily in Nagaland and is widely circulated in Kohima, Chümoukedima, Dimapur and Phek.
