Konsh Valley

Konsh valley is located on the northern borders of the Mansehra district, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The town of Battal is the headquarters of the valley. The Silk Route, also known as the Karakoram highway, passes through it leading to Gilgit. Towns, like Battal, and structures in the area, were severely damaged by the 2005 Kashmir earthquake. The altitude varies from 1067 meters at Ichhrian to 2911 meters at Bahishti Sar. The valley is inhabited by more than 76,000 people, made up of three main tribes: Sayyed, Swati, Gujars, And For better prospects of life, Akazais (Yousafzai Pathan) migrated to adjoining area and cities within Pakistan. Aziz Khel, section of Akazai, People who migrated from Tor Ghar are now living in Konsh Valley village Chinarkot UC Ichrian Tehsil Baffa, Mansehra district. [1]

Shinkiari is a Union Council of Mansehra District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is a major tea city with many tea gardens. The police station was established before the Partition of India. At that time, Baffa was a police chowki of Shinkiari Police Station and the second police chowki was in Battal. Both chowkies have now become police stations while historically with poor political background Shinkiari is still a police station instead of a tehsil of Mansehra District. Most of the people are from the Swati Pashtun and Gujjar tribes, speaking Pashto and Hindko. Swatis are the biggest landlords here including Panjghol Swatis and Panjmerals Swatis who are further divided into many Khels/sub-sections.

Natural water rich in herbs comes from hills. The literacy rate is growing gradually. There are difficulties that the local population faces the lack of proper healthcare facilities in the area, as there are no hospitals in the region & Also there is no any Govt boys or girls college. Mostly people moved for jobs & businesses and support their families & serving in different departments of country & abroad. Farming is only way of earning but due to hilly area and weather conditions its not fulfill requirements of area.
