Koussanar Arrondissement is an arrondissement of the Tambacounda Department in the Tambacounda Region of Senegal.
The arrondissement is divided administratively into rural communities and in turn into villages.

Three of these regions were created on 10 September 2008, when Kaffrine Region was split from Kaolack, Kédougou region was split from Tambacounda, and Sédhiou region was split from Kolda.

The department had an area of 22,378 km² and population estimate at 215,680 in 2005. However, in 2008 the department was split to form the new department of Goudiry, so the area was reduced to estimated 6,290 km².
