The World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships is an international swimming championship event organized biennially by World Aquatics for swimmers aged 14–18 years as of 31 December of the year of the competition. It is usually held on odd years. Prior to 2023, the event was known as the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships and was open to female swimmers aged 14–17 and male swimmers aged 15–18 as of 31 December of the year of the competition.
The European Junior Swimming Championships is an annual swimming competition for European swimmers organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation and held over five days. The competitor age for females was 15 to 16 years; for males it is 17 to 18 years until 2015. From 2016 the competitor age is for females 14 to 17 years and for males 15 to 18 years.

At his first Olympic Games, the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal in the 200 metre butterfly and a silver medal in the 100 metre butterfly. He has also won three gold medals and one silver at the World Aquatic Championships, as well as three gold medals at the European Aquatics Championships. He was the gold medalist in the 400 metre freestyle, 200 metre freestyle, and 200 metre butterfly events at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
Daniel Zaitsev is an Estonian butterfly and freestyle swimmer. He competed in the men's 50 metre butterfly event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. He is a 18-time long course and 26-time short course Estonian swimming champion. He has broken 27 Estonian records in swimming.

Anastasia "Nastiya" Gorbenko is an Israeli competitive swimmer. She competes in the backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and medley. She has won 8 World and European championships gold medals, competed at 2 Olympic finals, broken most of the Israeli national records for women and mixed relays, and is considered to be Israel's greatest swimmer of all time. In February 2024, Gorbenko won a silver medal at the Doha World Championships in the women's 400 meters individual medley. Gorbenko represented Israel at the 2024 Summer Olympics in swimming in the 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m individual medley, 400m individual medley, 4x200m freestyle relay, and mixed 4x100m medley relay.
Zach Harting is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in the butterfly and freestyle events. He currently represents the DC Trident which is part of the International Swimming League. He competed in the men's 200 metre butterfly at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. In 2021, he qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in the 200m Butterfly.
Laura Lahtinen is a Finnish swimmer. She competed in the women's 400 metre freestyle and the women's 200 metre butterfly at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. She represents swim club Helsingfors simmsallskap.
Tessa “Tess” Cieplucha is a Canadian swimmer who primarily competes in the individual medley. She is the former champion in the women’s 400m Individual Medley winning Gold at both 2021 Fina World Swimming Championships (25m) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
