Kristin Otto is a German Olympic swimming champion. She is most famous for being the first woman to win six gold medals at a single Olympic Games, doing so at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. In long course, she held the world records in the 100 meter and 200 meter freestyle events. Otto was also the first woman to swim the short course 100 meter backstroke in under a minute, doing so at an international short course meet at Indiana University in 1983.
Azerbaijan sent a delegation to compete at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy from 10–26 February 2006. The nation was making its third appearance at a Winter Olympics. The Azerbaijani delegation consisted of two athletes, an ice dancing team of American-born Kristin Fraser and Russian-born Igor Lukanin. They finished the competition in 19th place. As of the conclusion of these Olympics, Azerbaijan has never won a Winter Olympics medal.
Kristin Fraser is an American former competitive ice dancer who competed for Azerbaijan with Igor Lukanin. They teamed up in 2000 and became four-time Azerbaijani national champions. They represented Azerbaijan at the 2002 Winter Olympics and 2006 Winter Olympics. Fraser and Lukanin were married on December 31, 2010 in Montclair, New Jersey.
Sweden competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, England. 181 competitors, 162 men and 19 women, took part in 100 events in 18 sports.
Norway competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. 102 competitors, 96 men and 6 women, took part in 72 events in 14 sports. Earlier in the year, Norway had hosted the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo.
Eidsiva Arena, also known as Kristins Hall, is an arena located at Stampesletta in Lillehammer, Norway. It consist of an ice rink, a combined handball and floorball court, and a curling rink. The venue, owned and operated by the Lillehammer Municipality, opened in 1988 and cost 65 million Norwegian krone (NOK) to build. One of the motivations for its construction was to help Lillehammer's bid to be selected as the host of the 1994 Winter Olympics. The ice rink has a capacity for 3,194 spectators and is the home rink of GET-ligaen hockey club Lillehammer IK. Eidsiva Arena is located next to the larger Håkons Hall, which opened in 1993. During the 1994 Winter Olympics, Kristins Hall was a training rink, and subsequently hosted the ice sledge hockey tournament at the 1994 Winter Paralympics. The venue also co-hosted Group B of the 1989 World Ice Hockey Championships.
Kåre Olav Berg was a Norwegian nordic skier who competed in the 1960s and 1970s. Competing as a ski jumper at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley, he finished 13th in the individual large hill event. At the 1968 and 1972 Winter Olympics, Berg competed as a nordic combined skier, finishing 28th in 1968 and eighth in 1972.
The 2016 Winter Youth Olympics, officially known as the II Winter Youth Olympic Games, took place in and around Lillehammer, Norway, between 12 February and 21 February 2016. They were the fourth Youth Olympic Games and the second winter edition. Lillehammer was awarded the games on 7 December 2011 as the only candidate. The games reused venues from the 1994 Winter Olympics; this made Lillehammer the first city to host both regular and Youth Olympics. In addition to Lillehammer, sports were contested in Hamar, Gjøvik and Øyer.

Justin Bradley Olsen is an American bobsledder who has competed since 2008. He won two medals at the 2009 FIBT World Championships in Lake Placid, New York, with a gold in the four-man and a bronze in the mixed team events. Olsen's best event bobsleigh World Cup finish was second on three occasions in 2008–09. Olsen won a gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in the four-man bobsled with driver Steve Holcomb.

Kristin Kloster Aasen is the former first vice president of Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports from 2015 to 2019. She was the president of the Norwegian Equestrian Federation from 2003 to 2012, and elected onto the International Olympic Committee in 2017. While with the IOC, Assen was part of commissions for the 2026 Winter Olympics, 2026 Winter Paralympics and 2032 Summer Olympics.
Antony Berg was a French bobsledder. He competed in the four-man event at the 1924 Winter Olympics. Berg earned a Military Cross for fighting in World War I, and in 1928, he became an Officier of the Legion of Honour.
Liselotte Johansson is a Swedish freestyle skier. She was born in Berg Municipality. She competed at the 1994 Winter Olympics, in women's aerials, and also at the 1998 Winter Olympics and 2002 Winter Olympics.
Kåre Olaf Berg was a Norwegian ski jumper. He competed in the individual event at the 1960 Winter Olympics. He died in Gran on 12 December 2021, at the age of 89.
