Marvin Jones III (born July 9, 1976), also known as Krondon, is an American rapper and actor from Los Angeles, California. [1] He is a member of the group Strong Arm Steady, along with rappers Phil Da Agony and Mitchy Slick. As an actor Jones portrays the character Tobias Whale in The CW superhero television series Black Lightning , and voices Tombstone in the superhero film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse .

Jones grew up in South Central, Los Angeles. [1] He is an African American with albinism. [2]

Career

Music career

Strong Arm Steady formed in 2003, [3] and released its debut album Deep Hearted in 2007 followed by the mixtape Gang Mentality, the conceptual album In Search of Stoney Jackson and their most recent installment, Arms & Hammers . [3]

Krondon's debut album, Everything’s Nothing, came out in 2013. [4] [5]

Krondon collaborated with Shafiq Husayn (Sa-Ra Creative Partners) under the group name White Boiz, releasing the 2015 album Neighborhood Wonderful on Stones Throw Records. [6] [7]

Krondon also ghostwrites for other rappers, such as Snoop Dogg, [3] Dr. Dre, and Xzibit. [4] [5]

Strong Arm Steady, often referred to as SAS, is a hip hop group in California's underground hip hop scene. As of December 2009, the act consists of members Phil Da Agony, Krondon, of Los Angeles, and Mitchy Slick of San Diego, California. Originally an amorphous collective of at least eight, formed as an alternative to the gang-focused productions of West Coast rap's then-dominant Death Row Records, SAS pared down to four members for recording in the studio and performing live, with Xzibit as the frontman. Since he left the group in 2006, the three remaining members have been a stable trio.

In Search of Stoney Jackson is the second studio album by California based hip hop group Strong Arm Steady, released on January 26, 2010 under Stones Throw Records. The album's title is a reference to actor Stoney Jackson. The album, entirely produced by Madlib, features guest appearances from Talib Kweli, Phonte, Fashawn, Evidence, Oh No, Roscoe, Guilty Simpson and a host of underground Los Angeles rappers, as well as former Strong Arm Steady members Planet Asia and Chace Infinite. The rap vocals are mainly performed by Phil Da Agony and Krondon, as Mitchy Slick appears on only two tracks. The album is considered a collaborative album, between Madlib and the L.A. hip hop collective, who chose the beats from 200 potential compositions.
