Nagaland State in North East India

Nagaland is a state in northeastern India. It is bordered by the state of Arunachal Pradesh to the north, Assam to the west, Manipur to the south and the Sagaing Region of Myanmar to the east. St Joseph's College is a government-aided, Christian minority, co-educational college in West Bengal, India about 3 km north of downtown Darjeeling. It has been awarded Grade A by NAAC. It grew out of St. Joseph's School established in 1888. The college began in 1927 when it was affiliated to Calcutta University. Patkai Christian College is a college of higher education in Chümoukedima of Dimapur district, and is rated highest by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in the state of Nagaland, out of 11 colleges recognised by the University Grants Commission of India. Nagaland University Public University in Manipur, India

Nagaland University is a Central University established in the state of Nagaland by an Act of Parliament by the Government of India in 1989. It is headquartered at Lumami, Zunheboto. Two other permanent campuses are at Kohima (Merima) and Medziphema. Also there is a temporary campus in Dimapur where B.Tech courses are offered. Altogether 66 colleges are affiliated to the University with a total student population of around 24,000. Dr. P. Kilemsungla is an Indian educationist. She hails from Kohima, Nagaland. She is the first woman from Nagaland to be appointed as member of the Union Public Service Commission. She has been selected for Padma Shri for her contribution in the field of literature and education.

Phulchand Sethi

Phulchand Sethi was a social worker, philanthropist, and businessman of Dimapur, Nagaland in Northeast India. He was amongst the first proponents of Jainism in Nagaland. He was awarded the Commendation Certificate by the Governor of Nagaland, Lallan Prasad Singh, on 15 August 1975 for Social and Humanitarian activities. He established the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce in 1959. He could speak many local dialects such as Angami, Sema, Lotha, Kuki, Manipuri, Assamese. He died on 2 October 1976 in Dimapur.

Mmhonlumo Kikon is an Indian politician, poet, former social worker, and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is currently a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 40 Bhandari Constituency in Wokha District.

Hekani Jakhalu Kense is an Indian lawyer and social entrepreneur. She set up the non-governmental organization YouthNet Nagaland to help the young people of Nagaland pursue business opportunities. She was recognised with the Nari Shakti Puraskar award in 2018.
