Kuldip Singh (born 1 January 1932) is an Indian attorney and a former judge of the Supreme Court of India. Following his retirement from the Supreme Court, he headed the Delimitation Commission of 2002 that was tasked with redrawing the boundaries of the various assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies based on the 2001 census. [1]

Singh received his education from Col. Brown Cambridge School, followed by his first law degree from Punjab University in 1955 and a second one from the University of London in 1958. He served as a barrister-at-law at Lincoln's Inn in London before returning to India in 1959. [2]

Singh was appointed to the Supreme Court on 14 December 1988 and retired on 21 December 1996. [2]

The Delimitation commission or Boundary commission of India is a commission established by the Government of India under the provisions of the Delimitation Commission Act. The main task of the commission is redrawing the boundaries of the various assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies based on a recent census. The representation from each State is not changed during this exercise. However, the number of SC and ST seats in a state are changed in accordance with the census. The present delimitation of constituencies has been done on the basis of 2001 census under the provisions of Delimitation Act, 2002.

Jagdish Singh Khehar 44th Chief Justice of India

Jagdish Singh Khehar is a senior advocate who was the 44th Chief Justice of India (CJI). Khehar is the first CJI from the Sikh community. He has been a judge in Supreme Court of India from 13 September 2011 to 27 August 2017 upon superannuation. Ranjan Gogoi is an Indian former advocate and former judge who served on the Supreme Court of India for seven years, firstly as a judge from 2012 to 2018, and as the 46th Chief Justice of India for 13 months from 2018 to 2019. Arjan Kumar Sikri is an eminent jurist and a former judge of the Supreme Court of India. He was sworn in as a Supreme Court judge on 12 April 2013. Earlier, he had served as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. He retired as senior most puisne judge of Supreme Court of India on 6 March 2019.
