Kwasi Kwarfo Adarkwa is a Ghanaian academic and the a past Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). [1] In 2008,he was selected by then President of Ghana,John Kufuor,for a national award in the field of academics. [2] [3]
Adarkwa attended Mfantsipim School for his secondary education certificate. [1] He then obtained his university degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is a fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences,the Ghana Institute of Planners and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. [4]
Adarkwa served as the Pro Vice-Chancellor of KNUST,and became Vice Chancellor of KNUST from September 2006 to September 2010. He succeeded Prof. Kwesi Andam. During that time,the university was ranked among the first 100 universities of Africa. KNUST in February 2010 was ranked the 20th best university in Africa. [5] He was succeeded by Prof William Otoo Ellis.
Adarkwa returned to the Department of Planning,KNUST to lecture at the end of his Vice-Chancellorship.
His interests in research lie in urbanisation and growth of human settlements,transportation planning and economics,and land use planning. [6]

The College of Art and Built Environment came into existence in January 2005 in Kumasi,Ghana,as part of the restructuring of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology into a Collegiate System. Paul Victor ObengKSG also known as P. V. Obeng was a Ghanaian mechanical engineer and politician. He was the chairman of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology council. In 2010,he was appointed by the President John Atta Mills administration as Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC). Until his death,he was the Senior Presidential Adviser at Presidency to President John Dramani Mahama. He served under President's Jerry John Rawlings,John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama in different capacities. He was a member and coordinating secretary and chairman of the Committee of Secretaries of the Provisional National Defence Council. He died on 17 May 2014.
Kwesi Akwansah Andam was a Ghanaian academic and former Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He was a professor of engineering. He died on 14 December 2007 at the 37 Military Hospital.
