Kwesimintsim is a residential town in the Western region of Ghana. It is about 5 kilometres westwards from Takoradi [1] the regional capital. The town under the Effia-Kwesimintsim constituency of Ghana.
The town is bounded to the west by Apremodo to the east by Takoradi to the North by Anaji and south by Airport Ridge.
The Western Region is located in south Ghana, spreads from the Ivory Coast in the west to the Central region in the east, includes the capital and large twin city of Sekondi-Takoradi on the coast, coastal Axim, and a hilly inland area including Elubo. It includes Ghana's southernmost location, Cape Three Points, where crude oil was discovered in commercial quantities in June 2007. The region covers an area of 13,842 sq. km, and had a population of 2,060,585 at the 2021 Census.
Sekondi-Takoradi is a city in Ghana comprising the twin cities of Sekondi and Takoradi. It is the capital of Sekondi – Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly and the Western Region of Ghana. Sekondi-Takoradi is the region’s and largest Fante city as well as an industrial and commercial center, with a population of 445,205 people (2012). The chief industries in Sekondi-Takoradi are timber, cocoa processing, plywood, shipbuilding, its harbour and railway repair, and recently, sweet crude oil and crude oil. The fundamental job in Sekondi-Takoradi is fishing. Sekondi-Takoradi lies on the main railway lines to Kumasi and Accra. It is one of the most modern and cleanest cities in Ghana.
Ahanta West Municipal District is one of the fourteen districts in Western Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Ahanta West District, which was created from the former Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Authority Council, until it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 15 March 2018 to become Ahanta West Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southeast part of Western Region and has Agona Nkwanta as its capital town.
Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan District is a former district that was located in Western Region, Ghana. Originally created as a metropolitan district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Authority Council; which was later renamed as Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan District in 1994. However, on 29 February 2008, it was split off into two new districts: Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan District and Shama District. The metropolis was located in the southeast part of Western Region and had Sekondi-Takoradi as its capital town.
The Sekondi Sports Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana. It is used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium of Sekondi Hasaacas FC. Sekondi-Takoradi Stadium hosted some matches during 2008 African Cup of Nations. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people and opened in 2008. The stadium looks similar to the Tamale Stadium.
Prestea is a town in the Western Region, in southwest Ghana and about 50 km north of the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It lies on the west bank of the Ankobra River, about 60 mi (100 km) northwest of Cape coast. The town is part of the Prestea-Huni Valley District. Prestea is the forty-sixth most populous in Ghana, in terms of population, with a population of 35,760 people. A railway line used to connects with Prestea to Tarkwa and beyond to the coastal city of Sekondi-Takoradi.

Takoradi European Public Cemetery is in Ghana, situated north of the Takoradi Airport. It lies on the Takoradi-Axim road approximately 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from the town centre next to the public cemetery. Burials here include two First World War Commonwealth graves, as well as 64 from Second World War which includes members of the South African Air Force 26 Squadron. There are five war graves from other nationalities and 25 non world war graves.

Apremodo is a town in the Western region of Ghana. It is about 8 kilometres from Takoradi the regional capital. It apart from serving as a dormitory town for many of the workers who work in an around Takoradi, it also serves as a military base for the 2nd Infantry battalion of the Ghana Army. Again, part of the town houses the expanded part of the Market Circle, Takoradi's main market.
The Takoradi Harbour is in the Western region of Ghana. It is located in the industrial district of Sekondi-Takoradi and is the oldest harbour in Ghana. The Takoradi harbour and the Tema Harbour are the only harbours in Ghana.
Takoradi Technical University is a public tertiary education institution (university) located in Sekondi-Takoradi, the capital of the Western Region of Ghana. Takoradi Technical University was established as a Government Technical Institute in 1954, and became part of the State Tertiary Education System. Later after the passage of the Polytechnic Law of 1992. It was replaced by Polytechnics Law in 2007. In 2016, the Bill to convert six out of the 10 polytechnics into a fully fledged university received a unanimous approval of Ghanaian legislators.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan District in 1988, which was created from the former Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Authority Council, until the eastern part of the district was split off to create Shama District on 29 February 2008; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan District. However on 15 March 2018, the western part of the district was split off to become Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan District. The metropolis is located in the southeast part of Western Region and has Sekondi-Takoradi as its capital town.
Busua is a beach resort and fishing village in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region in Ghana, about 30 kilometers west of the regional capital, Sekondi-Takoradi in the Gulf of Guinea. Busua is classified in the category of towns with more than 5,000 inhabitants, with a paved road from Sekondi to reach the town. The inhabitants speak the Akan language dialect Ahanta. Busua fishing village is known for blue marlin and tuna fishery.
