Kyle Swan (born 28 March 1999) is an Australian racewalking athlete. He qualified to represent Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2021, [1] competing in men's 20 kilometres walk. Swan managed to finish the race. He came 36th with a time of 1:27.55., nearly 4 minutes off his PB This was 6:50 behind the eventual winner Massimo Stano of Italy. [2]
When Swan was only 6 years old he started watching his brother at Little Athletics. He joined and found that he ran the 800m easily. (This was the longest distance for children of his age). His first coach was Fran Attard. He made his junior international debut aged 16 at the 2015 World Youth (U18) Championships. [3]
In 2018, Swan was the first Aussie across the line in 10th place in the junior event at the World Race Walking Cup in China. Swan helped Australia to bronze in the team event. Two months later he competed in the World U20 Championships in Finland where he came sixth in a time of 41:24.12.
As a senior athlete Swan now needed to race over twice the distance, 20 km, and it took some time to adjust. By December, 2019 he managed a 1:23.53. In 2021 he set track best times over 5000m and 10,000m and had two solid walks just outside his 20 km PB, allowing him to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. [3]
Race walking, or racewalking, is a long-distance discipline within the sport of athletics. Although a foot race, it is different from running in that one foot must appear to be in contact with the ground at all times. Race judges carefully assess that this is maintained throughout the race. Typically held on either roads or running tracks, common distances range from 3,000 metres (1.9 mi) up to 100 kilometres (62.1 mi).

His best for the 20 km distance is 1:18:34 hours.

Valeriy Viktorovich Borchin is a race walker from Russia who won the 2008 Olympic gold medal and was World champion over the 20 km distance. His World Championship was retroactively stripped in 2015 due to doping.

Brett Robinson is an Australian track and field athlete specializing in the 5000 metres who has competed in the World Championships. Robinson qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He came 66th in the Men's marathon with a time of 2:24.04.
Dane Alex Bird-Smith is an Australian racewalking athlete. He competes in the 20 kilometres race walk, and has a best of 1:19:28 hours for the distance, set in 2017. He competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he was the bronze medallist. Bird-Smith represented Australia at the World Championships in Athletics three times, and has appeared four times at the IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships/Cup.
Massimo Stano is a male Italian racewalker. He competed in the 20 kilometres walk event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China, finishing in the 19th position, and the same event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan, finishing in first place. On 24 July 2022, Stano won the 2022 World Athletics Championships with a championship record.
Antigoni Drisbioti is a Greek race walker. She won gold medals in the 20 kilometres walk and 35 km race walk at the 2022 European Athletics Championships, the first golden double for Greece at the event. Her medal at the longer distance was her first international victory and the first major championship title for her country in race walking. Drisbioti finished fourth in the 35 km walk at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. She took bronze in the 20 km walk at the 2013 Mediterranean Games.
Rhydian Cowley is an Australian race walker born in Glen Waverley, Victoria who specialises in the 50 kilometres race walk and 20 kilometres race walk. Cowley competed in the 2013 World Championships in Moscow and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. For both of his major championship competitions, Cowley qualified in the 20 kilometres race walk. He has also competed at a Summer Universiade, five World Race Walking Cups, and a World Junior Championships. In 2021, he competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo where he finished in 8th in the men's 50 kilometres walk with a new personal best time of 3:52.01 just 113 seconds behind the eventual winner Dawid Tomala of Poland.

Jaryd Clifford is an Australian Paralympic, vision impaired, middle-distance athlete. He represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in athletics. He won gold medals in the Men's 1500m and 5000m T13 events at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships. Clifford represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, where he won silver medals in the Men's 5000m T13 and Men's Marathon T12, and a bronze medal in the Men's 1500 m T13.

At the 2020 Olympics, she came 37th in the women's 20 km walk final with a time of 1:38.11, just on 9 minutes behind the eventual winner Antonella Palmisano.

Rebecca Henderson is an Australian racewalking athlete. She qualified to represent Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, competing in the women's 20 kilometres walk. Henderson came 38th with a time of 1:38.21, 10 seconds behind her compatriot, Katie Henderson.
