The LG Gram (stylized LG gram) is a lineup of laptop computers manufactured by LG Electronics. They are designed to be extremely lightweight. [1] [2]
The first Gram was released domestically in South Korea, called the 13Z940 and marketed as the LG Ultra PC Gram. It was made official in January 2014 and weighed only 980 grams. [3] A 14 inch version (14Z950) was introduced at CES 2015.[ citation needed ] The 14 Gram proved popular in South Korea, exceeding 50,000 sales as of May 22. [4]
The Gram was announced internationally in September 2015 with two screen sizes available: 13.3" and 14". [5] They were the first LG laptops to be released in the US. [6] A 15.6" model was introduced during CES 2016. [7] [8] [9] It was recognized as the lightest 15 inch laptop in the world. [10] [11]
During CES 2017, the 2017 edition of the Gram was introduced. [12] [13] During CES 2018, the 2018 edition of the Gram was introduced. [14] During CES 2019, a larger 17" Gram alongside a 14" 2-in-1 Gram was introduced. [15]
During CES 2021, a larger 16" Gram alongside a 16" 2-in-1 Gram was introduced. [16]
In April 2022, the updated 2022 lineup of Gram was announced, which run on 12th generation Intel Core. Additionally, these come with the newer LPDDR5 type of RAM, and for the first time offer optional NVIDIA video cards for improved graphical performance. [17]
The 2023 Gram models are upgraded to 13th generation Raptor Lake Intel Core processors and variable refresh rate displays. [18]
In December 2023 and at CES 2024, LG announced the next generation Grams, with the new flagship being called the Gram Pro (in 16" and 17") and the convertible Gram Pro 2-in-1. The regular Gram line has also been upgraded. [19]
The line was diversified with the LG Gram 2-in-1 in 2019. [20] More 2-in-1 laptops in 14 and 16 inch versions were introduced in 2021. [21]
At CES 2023, two new models of the Gram were introduced: Gram SuperSlim and Gram Style. [22] The Gram SuperSlim was called the thinnest laptop at just 0.43 inches thick. [23] The LG Gram Style meanwhile appears to change exterior color depending on angle and lighting. [24] The LG Gram +View portable monitor was released in 2022. [17] In August 2023, an updated Gram +View was announced. [25]
Gram's marketing is held with the light weight of it. As the weight 980 gram is the maximum weight that it could have in all condition, LG was famous for its modest marketing in Korea. [26]

Dell XPS is a line of consumer-oriented laptop and desktop computers manufactured by Dell since 1993.
The Panasonic Toughbook is a line of rugged computers produced and marketed by Panasonic. The first model, the CF-25, was introduced in 1996. The Toughbook brand mainly competes with other lines of rugged computers, such as Dell's Rugged Extreme.
Dell Latitude is a line of laptop computers manufactured and sold by American company Dell Technologies. It is a business-oriented line, aimed at corporate enterprises, healthcare, government, and education markets; unlike the Inspiron and XPS series, which are aimed at individual customers, and the Vostro series, which is aimed at smaller businesses.
In computing, Direct Media Interface (DMI) is Intel's proprietary link between the northbridge and southbridge chipset on a computer motherboard. It was first used between the 9xx chipsets and the ICH6, released in 2004. Previous Intel chipsets had used the Intel Hub Architecture to perform the same function, and server chipsets use a similar interface called Enterprise Southbridge Interface (ESI). While the "DMI" name dates back to ICH6, Intel mandates specific combinations of compatible devices, so the presence of a DMI does not guarantee by itself that a particular northbridge–southbridge combination is allowed.
Dell Precision is a series of computer workstations for computer-aided design/architecture/computer graphics professionals, or as small-scale business servers. They are available in both desktop (tower) and mobile (laptop) form. Dell touts their Precision Mobile Workstations are "optimized for performance, reliability and user experience."
Acer Aspire is a series of personal computers by Acer Inc. aimed at casual household users. The Aspire series covers both desktop computers and laptops. Acer developed the series to range from essentials to high performance. The Aspire mainly competes against computers such as Asus' Transformer Book Flip, VivoBook and Zenbook, Dell's Inspiron and XPS, HP's Pavilion, Spectre, Stream and Envy, Lenovo's IdeaPad, Samsung's Sens and Toshiba's Satellite.
Dell Studio is a range of laptops and desktops targeted at the mainstream consumer market, produced by Dell. The computers sit above Dell's Inspiron and below the XPS consumer lines in terms of price and specifications. They differ from Dell's lower-end Inspiron models by offering slot-loading optical drives, media keys, more cover design options, faster processor options, HDMI and eSATA ports, LED-backlit screens, and backlit keyboards.
Intel Core is a line of multi-core central processing units (CPUs) for midrange, embedded, workstation, high-end and enthusiast computer markets marketed by Intel Corporation. These processors displaced the existing mid- to high-end Pentium processors at the time of their introduction, moving the Pentium to the entry level. Identical or more capable versions of Core processors are also sold as Xeon processors for the server and workstation markets.
LGA 2011, also called Socket R, is a CPU socket by Intel released on November 14, 2011. It launched along with LGA 1356 to replace its predecessor, LGA 1366 and LGA 1567. While LGA 1356 was designed for dual-processor or low-end servers, LGA 2011 was designed for high-end desktops and high-performance servers. The socket has 2011 protruding pins that touch contact points on the underside of the processor.
The ThinkPad X series is a line of laptop computers and convertible tablets produced by Lenovo with less power than its other counterparts. It was initially produced by IBM until 2005.
The first laptop in the IdeaPad U series was the U110 launched in 2008 by Lenovo. Showcased at CES 2008, the laptop also launched the IdeaPad series itself, and received the Best of CES 2008 award. The IdeaPad U series was a line of Lenovo's consumer line of laptops, combining Lenovo's traditional engineering with design changes that were significantly different from ThinkPad products.
The IdeaPad Y series was a consumer range of laptops produced by Lenovo, first announced in 2008. They were marketed as premium high performance laptops for multimedia and gaming, as part of the IdeaPad line.
In addition to the ThinkPad and IdeaPad laptops, Lenovo also offers a value-priced series of laptops. Called ‘Essential’ on the Lenovo website, the products available in this line include the G Series, B Series, and V Series. Launched in 2009, the first laptop in the Essential range was the G530.
The ThinkPad X1 series is a line of high-end ThinkPad laptops and tablets produced by Lenovo.
LGA 1151, also known as Socket H4, is a type of zero insertion force flip-chip land grid array (LGA) socket for Intel desktop processors which comes in two distinct versions: the first revision which supports both Intel's Skylake and Kaby Lake CPUs, and the second revision which supports Coffee Lake CPUs exclusively.
The Dell Inspiron series is a line of laptop computers made by American company Dell under the Dell Inspiron branding. The first Inspiron laptop model was introduced before 1999. Unlike the Dell Latitude line, which is aimed mostly at business/enterprise markets, Inspiron is a consumer-oriented line, often marketed towards individual customers as computers for everyday use.
The Dell G Series is a line of laptop and desktop computers by Dell. It is the successor to the Dell Inspiron Gaming Series (Pandora). It was launched in April 2018. The G series is positioned below Alienware and competes with Lenovo's LOQ, Acer's Nitro, HP's Victus.
