Laat (Sindhi لاٽ) is a children's magazine in Sindhi published by Mehran Publication Hyderabad, Sindh. It started in 1988 and got immediate attention of Sindhi children. It was founded by Altaf Malkani and Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti. It contains short stories, poems, articles and many more things of interest to the children. [1] [2]
Sindh is one of the four provinces of Pakistan. It is about 150 kilometres (93 mi) inland of Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan to which it is connected by a direct railway and motorway.
Sindhis are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group who speak the Sindhi language and are native to the Sindh region in Pakistan, located along the lower course of the Indus River as it flows on its journey from the Himalayas to the Arabian Sea. Modern Sindhis are descendants of the many peoples who have settled in the area from earliest times. After the partition of India in 1947, most Sindhi Hindus and Sindhi Sikhs had to migrate to the newly independent Dominion of India and other parts of the world in order to escape religious persecution. Today, ethnic Sindhis are found predominantly in Pakistan while a minority resides in India.

Imdad Ali Imam Ali Kazi, also known as Imdad Ali Kazi, the son of Kazi Imam Ali Ansari, was a scholar, philosopher, jurist, and educationist. He is considered to be a founding father of the University of Sindh at its present location at Jamshoro. He published works of Sindhi art, literature, mysticism, education and history. Along with his wife Elsa, he wrote a book on comparative religion, The Adventures of the Brown Girl in her Search for God, which was published by Arthur H Stockwell Ltd., England, in 1933. They also worked on a translation of the verses of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
Dr Fahmida Hussain was born in a literary family on July 5, 1948 in Tando Jam in district Hyderabad Sindh, Pakistan. Her father Mohammad Yakoon "Niaz" was also a scholar who had translated poetry of Hafiz Shirazi from Persian to Sindhi language. Her brother Sirajul Haq Memon was also a well-known author and researcher. She is a well-known author, scholar, linguist and intellectual of Pakistan. Her fields of work have been: Literature, Linguistics, Woman studies and Anthropology. Her specialization is in the study of the great classical mystic poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. Dr Fahmida was the Chairperson of Sindhi Language Authority from May 2008 to March 2015. Before that she had served as Director of Shah Abdul Latif Chair, University of Karachi for ten years. Prior to that she had also served as Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Sindhi in the same university. Dr Fahmida Hussain is a prolific writer who has more than 15 books to her credit along with several research articles on the subjects of Literary Criticism, Linguistics with special reference to different aspects of Sindhi language, poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai and gender issues. She started writing short stories and poetry from a very young age and has to her credit one book of short stories as well. She has been writing columns, articles and critiques in various newspapers and magazines from the last 40 years. She is married to Abdul Hussain and they have 3 children. Dr Sunita Hussain, Aruna Hussain and a son Shahmir Hussain.
Sindhi Colony is a major suburb of Secunderabad, India. It was founded to house refugee Sindhis coming from Sindh that became a part of Pakistan after the partition of India in 1947. It is to the north of Hyderabad.

Prominent Sindhi writers and poets Hameed Sindhi, Aasi Zamini, Altaf Malkani, Ustad Bukhari, Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti have written for Waskaro.

1990 Hyderabad massacre, also known as "Black Friday" or "Pucca Qila massacre" is the massacre of more than 200 innocent Mohajirs including women and children were killed in Hyderabad, Sindh in Pakistan in 1990. On the evening of 26 May 1990,It all started when sind police under the direct orders from PPP state gov't. fired indiscriminately on crowds killing around 200 people and injuring 200 others including women and children. The Muhajir Qaumi Movement, said in a statement that their offices and the house of Hyderabad's mayor Aftab Ahmed Sheikh were targeted by the gunmen, while the Awami National Party provincial president, a Sindhi, said the attackers had struck at both Muhajir and Sindhi communities.
The authorities sent in troops to enforce a curfew in both Karachi and Hyderabad. Clashes between Muhajirs and Sindhis had been going on since June then.
Sindh TV News or Sindh Television News is a Sindhi television channel. It's a news channel which telecast news, news reports and current affair programs. The management of Dolphin Media House announced to launch a news channel and its testing transmission was started in October 2004. The channel did cover historical and archaeological sites of Sindh and other sites in Pakistan, so it was considered as a first documentary TV channel of Pakistan. Notable Sindhi journalists such as Ishaq Manrio, Hassan Dars, Bukhshan Mehranvi and Imdad Soomro did cover the documentary programmes. The owners of the channel are Dr.Karim Rajpar and Ajeet Kumar Ahuja.
Tariq Alam Abro was a Sindhi novelist, short story author and playwright. He was born on 10 April 1958, in Qambar, Sindh. According to Rasool Bux Dars, he was one of the three greatest living Sindhi poets at the time of his death. He died on 11 June 2011, due to kidney and liver failures.
Maulana Ghulam Mohammad Grami was born on 30 December 1920 in Mehar, Dadu District, Sindh. He belonged with the Laghari Baloch tribe of the Sindh. He was an eminent scholar, journalist and poet. He died on 15 September 1976.

Akbar Jiskani was a Pakistani writer from Sindh Pakistan.
Tarique Ashraf was a Pakistani writer and publisher. Ashraf was the owner of Suhni printing press and editor-in-chief of Suhni Literary Magazine. His other works include his novel Meero Dharial and Jail Dairy. Ashraf introduced Sindhi short story writer Amar Jaleel by publishing his stories. Ashraf published Suhni's special edition called Amar Jaleel Number to promote him.
Atta Muhammad Bhanbhro was a Pakistani writer, translator, poet, historian, lawyer, and the founder of Hoshu, a banned rebellious magazine. He wrote more than four hundred books on Sindhi literature, history including traslations and civilization besides contributing to indus script through his writings. He was a wide studied man who claimed to read indus script found in moen jo daro but his research was not completed by him due to poority and government's little attention. Sometimes, he is referred to as archaeologist for his archaeological contribution excavated in Sindh.
