Labores del Hogar is a monthly women's magazine published in Barcelona, Spain. Founded in 1926 it is among the oldest publications in the country.
Labores del Hogar was started in 1926. [1] [2] Before it became an independent publication it was a supplement of another magazine entitled Hogar y Moda. [3] From the Spanish Civil War in 1936 to 1952 Labores del Hogar temporarily folded. [3]
In 1990 Edipresse SA acquired 75% of the publisher of the magazine, El Hogar y la Moda S.A. [4] In 1993 Edipresse SA became the sole owner of the magazine. [4] It is published by RBA Holding Editorial S.A on a monthly basis in Barcelona. [2] It offers articles about housework, needlework and the related techniques. [2] [5]
The magazine has a Portuguese edition and a Romanian edition. [1]

Laureana Wright de Kleinhans (1846-1896) was a Mexican writer and feminist pioneer. Her writings on the role of women, were revolutionary for her time. Her magazine, Violets of Anahuac in 1887, changed the paradigm by promoting as the core ideology of the magazine, the feminine ideal of a cultured, educated wife and mother. The publication promoted female education and insisted that the intellectual equality between men and women was the means of emancipation. She was one of the first feminist theorists in Mexico, asking women to question their role in society and the conditions in which they lived. She covered topics such as education, women's suffrage and legal equality between men and women. She wrote patriotic poetry and served as the vice president of the Spiritualist Society of Mexico, which she joined because one of its principles held that men and women were of equal intelligence.
Jaume Aiguader i Miró was a Spanish medical doctor, writer, social activist, politician and Catalan nationalist. He was one of the founders of the Republican Left of Catalonia political party. He became Mayor of Barcelona, and was a national deputy during the Second Spanish Republic. He was Minister of Labor and Social Assistance in the government of Juan Negrín during the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939). After the fall of the Republic, he died in exile in Mexico.

By 2019, Mondo Sonoro had a circulation of 125.000 monthly copies and over two million visits to its website every year.
The Hermandad Lírica was the name given to a group of 19th century Spanish Romantic women poets who congregated and gave each other mutual support. Their salon examined literature and the issues facing Spain in the 19th century. Their first publications started around 1840. The driving force in the group was the poet Carolina Coronado. The body of their work was homoerotic; directed at other women, often other poets. After twenty years the group began to wane and their work began to be discredited and ignored.

Marcelina Bautista Bautista is a Mexican human rights activist and trade union organizer. She worked as a domestic worker for 22 years, starting at the age of 14. She put herself through school, graduating from the Ibero-American University and started organizing her fellow workers. She founded the organizations Centro de Apoyo y Capacitación para Empleadas del Hogar in 2000 and Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores y Trabajadoras del Hogar (SINACTRAHO) in 2015.
