Lachlan Mitchell is an Australian record producer, engineer, mixer and musician.

He works at Jungle Studios in Leichhardt and Attic Studios in the Studios 301 complex in Sydney. Mitchell has worked with musicians across the spectrum, from indie rock through to black metal.

Biography

Mitchell was born in London and raised in Sydney, Australia. After graduating from audio engineering at AFTRS he worked as an assistant engineer at London’s Air Studios under the management of Beatles producer George Martin. [1] There he assisted on albums for musicians including Nik Kershaw, Phil Collins, John Martyn and Johnny Diesel. On returning to Sydney he worked at Studios 301 with Kate Ceberano, Groove Terminator, and Swoop, among others.

Since then he has worked on albums for artists including The Jezabels, Little Bastard, [2] [3] The Vines, [4] Love Like Hate, Deligma, The Hard-Ons, Little Earthquake, [5] Elliot the Bull, Eli Wolfe, Billy Thorpe, The Whitlams, Nitocris, Skulker, Henry's Anger, Something with Numbers, The Amenta, Sailmaker, One Dollar Short, Motor Ace, The Porkers, Lorelei, and The Black Lullaby. Described as a "deep-thinking, conceptual kind of producer," [7] he recorded and produced the critically lauded EPs and Australian Music Prize-winning debut album by The Jezabels; with all four releases having gone gold. [8] [9] In 2012, Mitchell received ARIA nominations for Producer of the Year and Engineer of the Year for his work on the album. [10] Triple J described Prisoner as "the most epic and anthemic Australian album of 2011." [11] The band has credited him with bringing together their disparate sounds and diverse interests, [12] and helping to produce their signature "sweeping, cinematic," [13] "grandiose, expansive soundscapes." [14]

The Mercury describes Mitchell as "himself a bundle of contradictions who loves pop divas by day but plays in a black metal band by night," referring to his long-standing association with Nazxul. [15] As a musician Mitchell plays various instruments including keyboards, bass, guitar, and vocals, and has played in bands including Nazxul, Guns Are For Kids and Brace.

Kevin Mitchell (musician)

Kevin Edward Mitchell, also known by the stage name of Bob Evans, is an Australian singer-songwriter; Mitchell uses the name for his primary solo project. He is also the founding lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the alternative rock band Jebediah, which was formed in 1994 and features his older brother Brett Mitchell, who joined on drums before the group's first performance. Jebediah released five studio albums between 1997 and 2011, the first three of which entered the top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Lisa Mitchell

Lisa Helen Mitchell is an English-born Australian singer-songwriter who grew up in Albury, New South Wales. Mitchell currently lives in Melbourne and is working on her fourth studio album. Mitchell finished sixth in the 2006 season of Australian Idol. Her debut extended play, Said One to the Other, topped iTunes in Australia and she signed with London-based publisher, Little Victories, a subsidiary of Sony/ATV. By 2008 Mitchell had relocated to the UK where she recorded her debut studio album, Wonder, which peaked at No. 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart. She won the 2009 Australian Music Prize of $30,000 for the album. Mitchell returned to Australia to live in Melbourne. Her second album, Bless This Mess reached No. 7. In March 2015, Mitchell's last single "Wah Ha" was remixed by electronic trio Seekae. Her third album Warriors was released on 16 October 2016 and debuted Top 10 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Andy Bull is an Australian alt-pop singer-songwriter and producer, based in Sydney. He is best known for his singles "Dog", "Keep on Running" and "Baby I Am Nobody Now"; as well as his prolific Australian touring.

Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, a live jazz performance music venue in Melbourne, Australia, was located at the end of its namesake lane off Little Lonsdale Street from 1992 to 2017. The club is relocating to Flinders Lane and is expected to open in 2020.

She has won three ARIA Music Awards with two in 2010 for I Believe You Liar, Best Female Artist and Breakthrough Artist – Release. The other win was Best Cover Art for Batflowers in 2020, shared with Adam Dal Pozzo and Michelle Pitiris. Russh (magazine) launched the Live at The Tivoli series which was recorded at Washington's shows in September 2020 where The Australian noted of her voice: "That jaw dropping instrument in her throat was enough to send everyone off on a high”.

The Jezabels Australian indie rock band

The Jezabels are an Australian indie rock band formed in Sydney in 2007. The band consists of lead vocalist Hayley Mary, lead guitarist Sam Lockwood, pianist and keyboardist Heather Shannon, and drummer and percussionist Nik Kaloper,. The band self-described their genre as "intensindie" but have since said that this was just a joke that they put up on a social networking site, though people took them seriously.

The Brink is the second studio album by Australian indie rock band The Jezabels. It was released on 31 January 2014 through PIAS Recordings and Dine Alone Records. She released compilation albums, House Party Volume 1 and House Party Volume 2, which appeared on the ARIA Charts. In 2015 she started her own music recording label "NLV Records". Las Vegas is also signed to the label.

Montaigne (musician) Australian musician

Jessica Alyssa Cerro, who performs as Montaigne, is an Australian art pop singer-songwriter-musician. Her debut album, Glorious Heights, was released on 5 August 2016, which peaked at No. 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2016 she won Breakthrough Artist – Release for the album and was nominated for three other categories. In April 2016 she was a featured vocalist on Hilltop Hoods' track, "1955", which reached No. 2 on the ARIA Singles Chart. She was supposed to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with her song "Don't Break Me", until the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 2 April 2020, it was announced that she would represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
