Eswatini,officially the Kingdom of Eswatini and also known by its former official name Swaziland and formerly the Kingdom of Swaziland,is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. It is bordered by Mozambique to its northeast and South Africa to its north,west,south,and southeast. At no more than 200 km (120 mi) north to south and 130 km (81 mi) east to west,Eswatini is one of the smallest countries in Africa;despite this,its climate and topography are diverse,ranging from a cool and mountainous highveld to a hot and dry lowveld.
The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) is the military of the Southern African Kingdom of Eswatini (Swaziland). It is used primarily during domestic protests,with some border and customs duties;the force has never been involved in a foreign conflict. The army has struggled with high rates of HIV infection. Since measures were put in place the rate is dropping.

Constance Simelane is an Eswatini politician who rose to become the first female Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Swaziland. Appointed to the Senate in 2001,Simelane became Minister of Education in 2003. In October 2006 Simelane was appointed Deputy Prime Minister by King Mswati III,succeeding Albert Shabangu who had died a month earlier.
HIV/AIDS in Eswatini was first reported in 1986 but has since reached epidemic proportions. As of 2016,Eswatini had the highest prevalence of HIV among adults aged 15 to 49 in the world (27.2%).
Eswatini formerly known as Swaziland,a country located in Southern Africa is a source,destination,and transit country for women and children subjected to trafficking in persons,specifically commercial sexual exploitation,involuntary domestic servitude,and forced labor in agriculture. Swazi girls,particularly orphans,are subjected to commercial sexual exploitation and involuntary domestic servitude in the cities of Mbabane and Manzini,as well as in South Africa and Mozambique.
Makgabo Reginah Mhaule is a South African politician from Mpumalanga who is currently serving as Deputy Minister of Basic Education. She has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly since 2018.
Kwati Candith Mashego-Dlamini is a South African politician from Mpumalanga. She has been the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation since May 2019,and she formerly served as Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform from 2014 to 2019.
A series of protests in Eswatini against the absolute monarchy and for democratisation began in late June 2021. Starting as a peaceful protest on 20 June,they escalated after 25 June into violence and looting over the weekend when the government took a hardline stance against the demonstrations and prohibited the delivery of petitions. Lower-level unrest and protests continued until summer 2023.

Pholile Dlamini Shakantu is an Eswatini politician. She has been the Minister of Justice from 2018 and the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2023.
Tanele Maseko is a Swazi human rights activist and the widow of the prominent human rights lawyer and democracy activist Thulani Maseko. Following her husband's assassination in 2023,Maseko has become a prominent campaigner both with regards to continuing her husband's activism promoting democratic reform in Eswatini,and also by calling for an independent investigation into his death,for which she has received harassment and intimidation from Swazi authorities.
The Education Plus Initiative (2021–2025) was created to empower adolescent girls and young women. It is a joint initiative of five organizations namely;United Nations States Agency for International Development( UNAIDS),United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO),United Nations Population Fund formerly,United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA),United Nations Children Fund formerly,the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and UN Women.
