Lafonoteca is an online music database and guide service website for Spanish popular music.

Content

As a database, Lafonoteca covers a multitude of styles and genres, from pop, rock and hip-hop to traditional Spanish and world music styles such as flamenco and rumba.

It contains over 1000 biographies of different Spanish bands and artists, including place of origin, time in activity and names of its components. In addition, for each band or artist they have an outlined discography and the most representative, which are rated from one to five stars.

Other activities

As a parallel activity they have promoted performances by Spanish bands in London to publicize independent Spanish music abroad. [1] They debuted with Triángulo de Amor Bizarro , followed by Pauline en la playa, Joe Crepúsculo and Delorean, among others. Later they began to organize concerts in the Iberian Peninsula. Besides Madrid where the main activity takes place, they have a very active delegation in Barcelona, which since 2011 has organized around a hundred concerts, another one in Oporto is currently open. In 2011 they started recording with the launch of a compilation titled No te apures mamá, es solo música pop, [5] followed by series released annually. In 2013, with Walden Books, editorial work began with the reissue of Música Moderna by Fernando Márquez originally published in 1981. [6] It was then followed by Saudade, the biography of the Galician musician Andrés do Barro and Batería, Guitarra y Twist in 2016, a book about the origins of Madrid rock.

Pastora Soler

María del Pilar Sánchez Luque, better known by her stage name Pastora Soler, is a Spanish singer. She is also a songwriter and her compositions usually mix copla or flamenco with pop or electronic music.

Daniel Diges García is a Spanish singer, pianist, composer and actor. Although born in Madrid proper, he has spent all his youth in the neighbouring city of Alcalá de Henares.

Pablo Moreno de Alborán Ferrándiz popularly known as Pablo Alborán, is a Spanish musician, singer, and songwriter. In 2011, he was nominated for three Latin Grammy Awards. Alborán has released three studio albums, two live albums, and various musical collaborations. His records are distributed by Warner Music which debuted in 2010 with their first official release, "Solamente Tú", the first single from his debut album Pablo Alboran (2011), released in February 2011. The album ranked No. 1 in its first week of sales, making Alborán the first solo artist to sign a complete debut album to rank to the top since 1998 in Spain.

Barei (singer)

Bárbara Reyzábal González-Aller, known professionally as Barei, is a Spanish singer and songwriter. She represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Say Yay!".

Say Yay!

"Say Yay!" is a song performed by Spanish singer Barei and written by herself, Rubén Villanueva and Víctor Púa Vivó. The song represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 held in Stockholm, Sweden. It is the first ever Spanish Eurovision entry that features no Spanish lyrics. The song was released as a digital download on 25 January 2016 through Gran Sol, reaching number-one on Spanish iTunes. A new version of the song was released on 11 March 2016 via Universal Music Spain. It was included in the re-issue of Barei's 2015 album Throw the Dice.

<i>Corazón de poeta</i> 1981 studio album by Jeanette

Corazón de poeta is the fourth studio album by English-born Spanish singer Jeanette, released in June 1981 on RCA Victor. The album was almost entirely written and produced by composer Manuel Alejandro, who had written "Soy rebelde", Jeanette's 1971 breakthrough as a canción melódica singer. After releasing an LP record in France and an unsuccessful foray into disco in Germany, Corazón de poeta was Jeanette's return to the Spanish market, as well as to the soft, sentimental ballads she had been known for. Corazón de poeta intended to reinvent Jeanette's childlike image into a more mature one, reflected in its erotic tone and its promotional campaign.

Amaia (singer)

Amaia Romero Arbizu, also known as simply Amaia, is a Spanish singer and pianist. She gained national recognition after taking part in series nine of the television talent contest Operación Triunfo, where she'd end up first place. Romero represented Spain alongside fellow competitor Alfred García at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with "Tu Canción".

Los ojos del gato is the second studio album of the Spanish female singer-songrwriter Luz Casal released in 1984 under the record label Zafiro, two years after her debut album. This album was recorded in Madrid, Brussels and Bonn and consists of nine tracks, the most of them written by herself and by other collaborators such as Ramoncín and other performers such as Hilario Camacho. Just like in her previous release, Carlos Narea was the executive production of this album.

Hotel, dulce hotel is the fifth studio album of the Spanish singer-songwriter Joaquín Sabina, released in 1987 one year after Joaquín Sabina y Viceversa en directo, his previous live album, released only one year before. This is also the performer's third released under Ariola.

La Shica

La Shica is the pseudonym of Elsa Rovayo, a Spanish pop singer with flamenco, Spanish dance, and classical ballet training capable of approaching singing and dancing by drinking in the copla and mixing and fusing it with urban sounds such as hip-hop and rap. Andreu Buenafuente said of her that she was "the coplera 2.0", also saying that she is the coplera of the 21st century. She has shared the stage with artists such as Martirio, Bebe, Jorge Drexler, Pau Donés, Manuel Carrasco, and Rosendo. In 2011 she won two Premios de la Música as Artista Revelación and Autor Revelación.

Teléfono 2018 single by Aitana

"Teléfono" (transl. Telephone) is a song recorded by Spanish singer Aitana, written by Aitana, Andrés Torres, and Mauricio Rengifo, and produced by the latter two. The song was released as a single by Universal Music Spain on 27 July 2018. A remix featuring American Internet personality and singer Lele Pons was released on 21 November.

Pic-Nic

Pic-Nic was a Spanish teenage folk-pop and sunshine pop band formed in Barcelona in the mid-to-late 1960s, composed of lead singer Jeanette, guitarists Toti Soler and Al Cárdenas, drummer Jordi Barangé and bassist Isidoro "Doro" de Montaberry. Contrary to popular belief, keyboardist Jordi Sabatés does not appear in any of the group's releases, as he joined the band after their only published recordings sessions happened. Pic-Nic was the successor to the short-lived group Brenner's Folk, originally founded by brothers Haakon Brenner and Vytas Brenner together with Soler, Barangé and Jeanette. After releasing a four-song EP for label Edigsa in 1966, the Brenner brothers left the band, being replaced by Cárdenas and de Montaberry.

The 5th Division was one of the divisions of the People's Army of the Republic that were organized during the Spanish Civil War on the basis of the Mixed Brigades. It was deployed on the Madrid and Levante fronts.

Los Ronaldos was a Spanish rock band led by Coque Malla, emerged in Madrid in 1985 and active until 1998. However, in 2007 they met again for the release of the EP 4 Canciones, and later toured, recording a live album called La bola extra. In 2008 they split up again and continued their solo careers.
