Vihti is a small municipality located in the Uusimaa region of province of Southern Finland, approximately 50 kilometres (30 mi) northwest of the capital city Helsinki. Lohja is located near Greater Helsinki, and it benefits from a good road network. Nummi-Pusula is a former municipality of Finland. It was merged with Lohja on 1 January 2013. Its seat was in Nummi. Nummi-Pusula was formed in 1981 from the former municipalities Nummi and Pusula.

The majority of the lake is located within the borders of the city of Lohja and smaller parts in the municipality of Karjalohja and in the city of Raseborg. The lake drains into the Gulf of Finland through Mustionjoki. Together with Hiidenvesi, which drains into the gulf from the north, Lohjanjärvi is a part of the Karjaanjoki basin.

The event's three medalists, Estonia, Slovakia, and Latvia, join the host and the top eight finishers from the last World Wheelchair Curling Championship at this season's event in Stirling, Scotland.
Nummi is a former municipality in the Uusimaa region of Finland. In 1981, Nummi merged with Pusula to form the municipality of Nummi-Pusula. In 2013, Nummi-Pusula in turn merged with the city of Lohja, and nowadays the Nummi village centre is the 103rd district of Lohja. Before the 1981 merger, the neighbouring municipalities of Nummi were Kiikala, Lohja, Pusula, Sammatti, Somero, Suomusjärvi and Vihti.

Virkkala is a district of Lohja, Finland, located about 8 kilometers southwest of the center of Lohja along Hanko Highway. Lake Lohja is located right next to Virkkala on its western side. The urban center of Virkkala has businesses as well as a library, pharmacy, and parish center. Most of the Swedish-speaking settlement in Lohja was concentrated in the Virkkala area.
Petter Teodor Forsström was a Finnish industrialist, Vuorineuvos and the father of the Lohja lime industry. Forsström worked as Lohjan Kalkkitehdas Oy's managing director exceptionally long period of time, 65 years. In 1946 he was sentenced to prison for treason after participating in the Pro-German resistance movement in the late stages of the Continuation War and during the Lapland War.
