The All India Trinamool Congress is an Indian political party that is mainly influential in the state of West Bengal. It was founded by Mamata Banerjee on 1 January 1998 as a breakaway faction from the Indian National Congress and rapidly rose to prominence in the politics of West Bengal under her leadership. Presently,it is ruling the state of West Bengal beside being the third-largest party in India in terms of number of MPs just after the BJP and INC.
The Indian Youth Congress is the youth wing of the Indian National Congress party. The Indian Youth Congress was a department of the Indian National Congress from the period just after the Partition of India in 1947 until the late 1960s. While prime minister,Indira Gandhi gave the Youth Congress a new dimension by establishing it as a frontal organisation of the Congress Party,with the objective of doing social work. Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi was the first president of the Indian Youth Congress who later became Minister of Broadcasting and Parliamentary affairs in the Indian cabinet;Narayan Dutt Tiwari was the first President. Jitin Prasada was also the president of the Indian youth congress.

Previously he served two terms as the eighth Chief Minister of Goa. Faleiro was credited with devising strategies and stitching alliances that led to formation of Governments in Mizoram,Meghalaya,Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur. In 2013 was Chairman of the Karnataka Pradesh Assembly Elections Screening Committee,following which the Congress won the Karnataka Assembly Elections. He quit the Indian National Congress on 27 September 2021 to join the All India Trinamool Congress on 29 September 2021. On 10 April 2023 he resigned from Trinamool Congress and also resigned from Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament post under the ticket of Trinamool Congress. He is married to Rachel Faleiro and is the father of two sons,Lenin,Rabindra and only daughter Rania.
