Laman Alimuradova (born 29 November 2004) [2] is an Azerbaijani group rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 World 3 ribbons + 2 balls bronze medalist. She is the 2020 European group all-around silver medalist and 2022 European group all-around bronze medalist.

Career

Alimuradova began rhythmic gymnastics when she was eight years old. [1]

Junior

In 2019, she became a part of Azerbaijani junior group and was the group's captain. [3] They competed at the 2019 European Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, where they placed fifth in group all-around and sixth in 5 Hoops final. [4] She also competed at the 2019 Junior World Championships in Moscow, Russia and placed eighth in group all-around and seventh in 5 Hoops final. [5]

Senior

Alimuradova became age-eligible for senior competition in 2020. She competed at the 2020 European Championships in Kyiv. Together with Zeynab Hummatova, Darya Sorokina, Yelyzaveta Luzan and Maryam Safarova, she won a silver medal in group all-around and a bronze medal in 3 Hoops + 4 Clubs final. They also won the bronze medal in the team competition together with the juniors. [6] [7]

At the 2021 Sofia World Cup, Alimuradova and the Azerbaijani group won the all-around silver medal and the bronze medal in the 3 Hoops + 4 Clubs final. [8] Then at the Baku World Cup, the group won the bronze medal in the 5 Balls final and placed fourth in the all-around and fifth in the 3 Hoops + 4 Clubs final. [9] Then at the 2021 European Championships, the Azerbaijani group placed seventh in the all-around and team event, sixth in the 5 Balls final, and fourth in the 3 Hoops + 4 Clubs final. [10]

Alimuradova was selected to represent Azerbaijan at the 2020 Summer Olympics alongside Darya Sorokina, Zeynab Hummatova, Yelyzaveta Luzan, and Narmina Samadova. [11] They finished tenth in the qualification round for the group all-around and were the second reserve for the final. [12] She was then selected to compete at the 2021 World Championships. [13] The Azerbaijani group finished sixth in the group all-around and qualified for both event finals. [14] The group finished sixth in both the 5 balls and the 3 hoops + 4 clubs finals. [15]

Alimuradova and the Azerbaijani group won the 5 hoops gold medal and the all-around silver medal at the 2022 Baku World Cup. [16] At the 2022 Pamplona World Challenge Cup, she won three bronze medals in the group all-around, 5 hoops, and 3 ribbons + 2 balls. [17] Then at the European Championships in Tel Aviv, the Azerbaijani group won the bronze medals in the group all-around, 5 hoops, and 3 ribbons + 2 balls. [18] She then represented Azerbaijan at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games where the Azerbaijani group won the gold medal in the all-around. Then in the event finals, they won gold in 3 ribbons + 2 balls and silver in 5 hoops behind Uzbekistan. [19]

Alimuradova competed at the 2022 World Championships alongside Gullu Aghalarzade, Zeynab Hummatova, Yelyzaveta Luzan, and Darya Sorokina. In the 3 ribbons + 2 balls final, the group won the bronze medal behind Bulgaria and Italy. This marked the first time an Azerbaijani group won a medal at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships. <span class="mw-page-title-main">2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships</span>

The 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships were held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 16 to 22 September 2019. The competition took place at the National Gymnastics Arena and served as a qualifier for the 2020 Olympic Games. There were Olympic berths awarded to 16 individuals and 5 groups. There were 301 participating athletes from 61 countries.

Nicole Pircio Nunes Duarte is a Brazilian rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2021 and 2022 Pan American group all-around champion and the 2019 Pan American Games 3 hoops + 4 clubs champion. She won three gold medals at the 2018 South American Games and at the 2019 South American Championships, and she won four gold medals at the 2022 South American Championships. She represented Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics and finished twelfth in qualifications for the group all-around.

Yeva Yaroslavivna Meleshchuk is a Ukrainian group and former individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2019 Summer Universiade Clubs gold medalist. On national level, she is the 2018 Ukrainian National All-around champion and the 2020 Ukrainian National All-around silver medalist.

Palina Slancheuskaya is a Belarusian group rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2019 World Junior Group All-Around bronze medalist and the 2019 European Junior Group All-Around silver medalist.

Anastasiya Aliaxandrauna Malakanava is a Belarusian group rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2021 World team and group all-around bronze medalist. She represented Belarus at the 2020 Summer Olympics where she finished fifth in the group all-around. She won a silver medal in the team event at the 2021 European Championships.

Yelyzaveta Merenzon is a Ukrainian-born American group rhythmic gymnast. She was the alternate for the 2020 United States Olympic team. She won the 5 hoops event final with the American group at the 2017 Pan American Championships and won two silver medals at the 2019 Pan American Games.

Rachel Stoyanov is a Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She formerly represented North Macedonia in individual competition until 2021, when she joined the Bulgarian group. In 2022 she won gold medal with The Bulgarian team in All-around at the world championship in Sofia and become a World Champion. She won gold medal in the finals with 3 ribbons+2 balls. She is the European all-around champion and team champion with the Bulgarian team in 2023, as well as a silver medalist in the 5-hoop final. She is European champion with the Bulgarian team event of the 2022 European Championships in Tel Aviv.

Diana Svertsov is an Israeli rhythmic gymnast. She won gold in the group All-Around at the 2022 European Championship and silver in the same category at the 2022 World Championships.
