Thoiba's parents contrasting views on his career creates ample room for building up significant tension. The situation worsens as their disagreements threaten to end their marriage, putting Thoiba in a difficult position. He is faced with the dilemma of choosing between supporting his mother or siding with his father. It becomes more poignant after an incident that pressures Thoiba to confront his own values and priorities. [17]
The Signpost News praised Langdai Ama for its cultural sensitivity, and standout performances by Tonthoi Leishangthem and Rajkumar Amarjeet, calling it an ambitious regional film with visual poise. However, it criticised lead actor Amarr Mayanglambam’s performance as over-expressive and noted that the screenplay and abrupt ending diluted the film’s emotional depth. [18]
