Laredo Christian Academy was an Assemblies of God private Christian school located in Laredo, Texas. Grades Pre-K through 12th were taught in the Academy. In 2002 there were 162 students attending Laredo Christian Academy. The school closed permanently at the end of the 2002 school year. Curriculum was based on Accelerated Christian Education materials.

History

Reverend Ken Robinson, then senior pastor of First Assembly of God, was first principal of Laredo Christian Academy. Sara Hanlon was the school's second principal, after serving as school secretary to Robinson. Mrs. Salinas served as the third school principal. Reverend Tony Gutierrez served as 4th principal. Cindy Morales served as its final principal.

The Student Activity Complex is a soccer, track and field and football stadium and performing arts auditorium in Laredo, Texas owned by the United Independent School District. The complex is better known outside of South Texas as the home stadium for PDL 2007 champion franchise Laredo Heat until 2007 when the franchise moved to the Texas A&M International University Soccer Complex. The stadium also serves as home and away to UISD schools. It is home to the Alexander Bulldogs, LBJ Wolves, United Longhorns, and the United South Panthers. The auditorium is located next to the stadium which is used for band concerts, drama, and other related attractions.

The Laredo National Bank (LNB) was a Texas bank founded in 1892 headquartered in Laredo, Texas which was bought by Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria. LNB had been a component in the development of business and industry along the United States-Mexico border and South Texas. The Laredo National Bank had grown to approximately $3.5 billion in assets and was the fifth largest independent bank in Texas. Headquartered in Laredo, Texas, LNB had branches in Austin, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, Harlingen, Houston, McAllen, San Antonio, San Marcos, and Weslaco. Laredo National Bank owned South Texas National Bank. Callaghan is a ranching community in Webb County, Texas, United States which was established in 1881. The community was named after a nearby ranch owned by Charles Callaghan, and much later, Joe B. Finley. The community was once a cattle shipping point on the International and Great Northern Railroad. Callaghan is served by the Callaghan Ranch Airport. Callaghan is fourteen miles north of Laredo.

Wightman Memorial Baptist Church in Oyster Bay, New York, was first built in 1908. It is the third building on this site. The first Baptist congregation met in Oyster Bay as early as 1700, and Oyster Bay received its first ordained minister in 1724. The second church building, constructed in 1806 is still visible on the site, behind the newer structure.
