The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a professional Canadian football team based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They are currently members of the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Tiger-Cats play their home games at Tim Hortons Field.
The 1972 CFL season is considered to be the 19th season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the 15th Canadian Football League season.

In 1999, he was part of the Tiger-Cats team that won the 87th Grey Cup. He missed the entire 2005 season due to injury and was released by the Tiger-Cats afterwards. At the time of his release, Amerson was one of the most prolific receivers in Tiger-Cats history, ranking third in receptions, fourth in receiving yards, fifth in kickoff return yards, and sixth in touchdowns.
Larry Butler is a former professional American football and Canadian football offensive lineman who played two season in the World Football League (WFL)for the 1974 New York Stars and 1975 Charlotte Hornets and six seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Butler attended Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee where he is a member of the Science Hill Sports Hall of Fame. He played college football at Appalachian State University where he was elected to the Athletics Hall of Fame in 1997. He won the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award in 1981.
Tim Hortons Field, nicknamed "The Donut Box"; is a multi-purpose stadium in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Completed in 2014 with a capacity of 22,500, it was built as a replacement for the Ivor Wynne Stadium at the same location since 1930. It is primarily used for Canadian football and soccer, and is the home of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League and Forge FC of the Canadian Premier League, amongst other teams.
Craig Butler is a former professional Canadian football defensive back and special teams coordinator and assistant defensive backs coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for Saint Thomas Aquinas Flames high school football team and played CIS football for the Western Ontario Mustangs where he co-won the Dr. Claude Brown memorial trophy for top male student athlete. Butler was also named an OUA All-Star and All-Canadian in his senior season. He was also a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. As well, Butler was recognized as a member of the CFL All-Decade team, 2010-2019.
Larry Dean is an American former professional football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He played college football at Valdosta State. Dean was also a member of the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Edmonton Eskimos, and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Xavier Brown is an American football defensive end. He played college football for C. W. Post, he was signed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL) as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He then played for the Chicago Rush and New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League (AFL) from 2012 to 2014.
Brian Gordon Tyms is an American former professional football wide receiver. He played college football at Florida A&M. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers as undrafted free agent in 2012. He is a three-time winner of the James P. McCaffrey Trophy, a three-time CFL All-Star, and a five-time CFL Divisional All-Star. He is the Tiger-Cats' franchise leader in total tackles (734) and defensive tackles (727) and holds the CFL record for most defensive tackles in a single game (17).

Anthony Royell Akins is a former Canadian football wide receiver and slotback who played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1999 to 2003. He played in 61 regular season games, catching 121 receptions for 2,138 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also returned punts and kickoffs. Akins is a Grey Cup champion.
