Larry New is a former American football player and coach.
New is a native of Seminole, Oklahoma [1] and a graduate of Wheaton College.
New's first coaching position was as the defensive coordinator at Wheaton College of Illinois from 1968. [1] He served as defensive line coach at Missouri from 1969 through 1970, [1] Arkansas from 1970 through 1974, [1] and South Carolina from 1975 through 1982. [1] New was an assistant coach at Georgia Tech from 1983 through 1986. [1] From 1987 through 1989 he was the defensive line coach at Alabama under head coach Bill Curry. [1] New followed Curry to Kentucky as defensive coordinator, 1990-1992. [1] New then was an assistant coach at the Virginia in 1993 and 1994 before returning as the defensive coach for Georgia Tech, 1995-1998, under head coach George O'Leary. [1]
After retiring from coaching in 1998 New was the director of the Homer Rice Center for Sports Performance and then in 1999 became assistant director of athletics at Georgia Tech. [1] In 2000, New was promoted to Senior Associate Director of Athletics and retired from Georgia Tech in 2007. He then went to work for the NFL as the defensive coordinator of the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe.[ citation needed ]
Terrence Edwin Roof Jr. is an American football coach and former player who currently serves as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the UCF Knights. He previously served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Oklahoma. Roof served as the head football coach at Duke University from 2003 to 2007.
Thomas Chandler Gailey Jr. is a former American football coach. Most recently in 2020, he was the offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). Gailey has previously served as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Buffalo Bills from 1998 to 2012.
Charles Evans Bresnahan is an American football coach and former player. He was the defensive coordinator of the Oakland Raiders on two occasions and the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL) as well as the Florida Tuskers and Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League (UFL). He also served as defensive coordinator in the college ranks at the University of Central Florida, University of South Florida and University of Maine. Bresnahan also served as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts of the NFL and the United States Naval Academy (Navy) and the Georgia Institute of Technology in the college ranks. Bresnahan also assisted in the Officiating Department of the NFL for 3 seasons. He is the son of Tom Bresnahan, a long time NFL assistant and Offensive Coordinator who coached 4 Super Bowls under Marv Levy (HOF-2001) with the Buffalo Bills.

He served as the head football coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from 1994 to 2001 and the UCF Knights from 2004 to 2015. He was famously hired in 2001 to be the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish but resigned after five days for lying on his resume. O'Leary was an assistant coach for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) from 2002 to 2004, and an assistant coach for the Syracuse Orange and San Diego Chargers.

The 2022 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team represented the Georgia Institute of Technology during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Yellow Jackets played their home games at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and competed as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They were led by Geoff Collins until his firing early in the season and then were subsequently led by interim coach Brent Key.
