Roy Eugene Barnes is an American attorney and politician who served as the 80th Governor of the U.S. State of Georgia from 1999 to 2003. As of 2022,he is the most recent Democrat to hold the office of Governor of Georgia.

Texas had no statewide law banning anti-LGBT discrimination prior to the federal prohibition on employment discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. However,some localities in Texas have ordinances that provide a variety of legal protections and benefits to LGBT people.
