Rediff gave the film a rating of one-and-a-half out of five stars and noted that "Last Bench turns out to be a major disappointment". [3] The Times of India gave the film a rating of one out of five stars and noted that "Last Bench suffers from its intolerable pre-occupation with the past and the way characters are burdened with feelings of loss, guilt and longing". [4]

Kaaviya Thalaivan is the 2014 soundtrack album to the Tamil historical fiction film of the same name, written and directed by Vasanthabalan. A. R. Rahman has composed the original songs and score for the film. Being a period film, the music of film reflects the sounds during the 1920s pre-Independence Indian era. The album marks poet Vaali's last lyrical work for this A. R. Rahman musical film. Prior to recording the original songs, Rahman carried out a research for six months for the music. Majority of the tracks were recorded by nine months, beginning from October 2012. Every song in the film has an underlying concept that justifies the screenplay. It was released on 31 July 2015 and emerged as a critical and commercial success, earning over ₹111 crores worldwide. A sequel titled Drishyam 2 was released in 2022. Life of Josutty is a 2015 Malayalam-language family drama film directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film stars Dileep in the title role along with a supporting cast consisting of Jyothi Krishna, Rachana Narayanankutty, Renjini Rupesh, Hareesh Perady and Chempil Asokan. Nayanthara made a special appearance as 'Swapna' to whom Josutty finally marries in the climax portion of the movie. The story is formatted with commentaries from the protagonist.
