Last Exit to Garageland is the debut album by New Zealand band Garageland. [2] It was released in 1996 on Flying Nun Records. [3] The album was reissued in the UK on Discordant Records and in the US on Foodchain Records in September 1997. In 2003, Foodchain issued a newer release which included bonus tracks.

No explanation is given for the reason for this number. One possibility is that it is geographic coordinates. The coordinates 27.0180 36.090 maps to a spot along Highway 5 in Saudi Arabia east of the Red Sea and 100 miles south east of the Sinai Peninsula but the significance of this location as it relates to the band or the album is unknown.

Freedom Highway is a 1965 album by The Staple Singers. The title song was written for the 1965 Selma to Montgomery march for voting rights and reflects not only on the actions of the activists but what suffering they had endured to get there, even referencing the murder of Emmett Till at Tallahatchie River. The lyrics begin “March up freedom's highway / March, each and every day.” and continue “Made up my mind / And I won't turn around." Mavis Staples reprised the song in 2008 on Live: Hope at the Hideout, which was released on November 4, 2008, the same day that Barack Obama won the presidential election.
